I have a couple more cards today that feature another Angel from Chocolate Baroque's beautiful new set - Gothic Angels.
I created the background with Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks using the Acrylic Block technique. I stamped the Gothic letters from Gothic Angels and a Fragment from Gothic Fragments with Seedless Preserves, spritzed with a little water on the ink before stamping.
I added the brick using a stencil and molding paste. When dry I coloured over the bricks again with the Distress Inks and added a little silver Inka Gold.
The Angel and window were coloured with Prisma Pencils. I added glitter to her dress and wings. I attached a gothic style key that was hanging out in my stash and sheer silver ribbon to finish off the card.
I used the Acrylic Block Technique as described in a recent Monday Mojo Magic Tutorial (great tutorials by Glenda, owner of Chocolate Baroque, it's free to sign up) for the background below:
The acrylic block that I used has wavy edges and left marks that you can see on the above background. I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink on the block. When dry, I blended a little Vintage Photo around the edges which I distressed. I also added the same ink to the lace. I stamped one of the fragment windows from Gothic Fragments a couple of times after spritzing water onto the inked stamp.
I coloured the angel and window with Prisma Pencils. Yuletide Greetings is also from Gothic Angels.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

You have used this angel image to great effect Shirley. Beautiful colouring both on the image and the backgrounds. I love the way you have layered up the script stamps, just perfect. Elaine x
Wow these are stunning Shirley. I love the gothic fragments in the backgrounds, and the bricks. You've used such beautiful colours too. I seem to have so much to do at the moment and not enough time to do it in.

WOW! Shirley,
das ist absolut fantastisch!!!
Beide Karten sind traumhaft schön, mit wunderschönen Hintergründen.

I love the first in particular - the combination of the script with the brickwork background plus the Gothic Fragment provides a lovely foil for the striking image. The way you coloured the stones is beautiful & she really glows. Remarkable how different the effect in the second sample with the brown bricks & I particularly like the way you brought out the earth of the browns in your warm green stained glass window.

Wowser, Shirley! The image is fabulous but you really bring it to life! The pink one is especially striking with the bit of "white" peeking out to let the other colors pop! Both cards are just beautiful with your remarkable, incredible background techniques! Love the shading, too. hugs, de

You forcing me to some hard decisions here...do I like the turquoise better or do I like the magenta better? I just can't decide after many waffling back n forth looks. These are so beautiful..I'm reminded of the wonder of a stained glass church window. Magnificent cards. TFS & inspiring. Hugs
