Happy Birthday Jeanette !

Good evening !     I made this card for my friend Jeanette who celebrated her birthday this week !    Jeanette is a talented crafter who has been so kind and generous to host a group of us almost weekly at her place.    It's such a relaxing atmosphere and wonderful time to work on stitching, knitting or cards and to share ideas and stories with each other.  Thank you Jeanette for all the fun & inspiration !   We hope you had a great Birthday!

The background on this card was created with an IO Cover a Card stamp.   I have quite a few of  these background stamps, you can do so much with them !   I stamped the flourishes with Versa Mark ink and embossed with clear on brown card stock.

I stamped and embossed the gift and bow twice with copper powder onto white smooth card stock.  I coloured in the first  image with Broken China Distress Ink and added Smooch Ink to highlight the circles.

On the 2nd image I coloured just the ribbon & bow with Tea dye Distress Ink.  Once again I added Mica Colour Interference paint for the shimmer !    I cut out the ribbon and bow and popped them up a bit over the package.

I used my Cuttlebug and a die from Nellies' Frames to cut out the square which was adhered behind the gift.  Blue ribbon, Happy Birthday and some bling were the final touches !

Stamps used:   Impression Obsession Cover a Card - Flourishes CC027,  The Artful Stamper - Present and Bow 1264P and the sentiment is from a Inkadinkado - Personal Impressions - 96614

Thanks for stopping by !
Have a great day,

Pretty in Pink - Outline's Challenge

Good evening !   I couldn't resist Outline's Challenge this week - "Pretty in Pink" as I could visualize a pretty & pink smooch ink background !   The details for this challenge are on Outline's Blog.  They also show beautiful cards by the Design Team.

It's hard to see the detail of the 'smoochy' background, but it has a nice sheen !     I used my new Outline stamps:   D96 Swirly Flower Med and D97 Swirly Flower Sm and the cool J988 Izzy Background to create this card.

I used Snickerdoodle & Taffy Smooch ink, blended on smooth white card stock to create the background.   I stamped Izzy with Colour Box, Metal extra Platinum Ink.   The flowers were stamped and embossed with a metallic bronze embossing powder.   I also coloured the flowers with the smooch inks.   To blend smooch inks you need a Colour box stylus with a curved moldable foam tip.    It's easy & fun !    I popped up the flowers, added ribbon and used bisque liquid pearls and diamond stickles for the finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day !

Christmas Candles

Good morning !   It's a beautiful sunny Fall day here in Ontario !        I had a great time teaching at the "Christmas Doodles" class on Saturday at Crop Circles with the creative & fun ladies.    They made 8 cards with the new "Shirley Doodle" stamps, it was busy !  I'm posting a Christmas Card today that I designed for Crop Circles.

I used a new Spellbinder Nestability to cut the shape and stamped and embossed the Candles & Holly with gold and coloured them with my Tom Bow markers.     The Christmas Candles image is a Shirley Doodle stamp.   I distressed around the image using the die as a 'mask' using "Old Paper" Distress Ink.     I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the green mat.  I used Impression Obsession's Cover a Card Flourishes CC027 with gold embossing on Basic Grey's 'Wassail' paper.   I also added some of the striped paper from that collection.    A bow and some red stickles were added as the final touch.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day !

Purple Paisley Pinwheel - IO's Purple Challenge

I'm entering my "Purple Paisley Pinwheel", into this week's challenge at Impression Obsession.   The theme is "The Colour Purple".  You can find the details and Design Team samples on Impression Obsession's Blog

I used IO's clingable set: Paisleys 3061-MD by Leigh Hannan to create this card.

I stamped and embossed the large paisley three times and the small paisley five times with gold powder onto white glossy paper.   I coloured the paisleys with the following Distress Inks - Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint and Tea Dye.     I then added Micacolour Interference paint (again) as I love the sheen they add !   I cut out all the Paisleys and attached them into a pinwheel pattern on top of purple card stock that was embossed with the Cuttlebug paisley folder and edged with a border punch.    A little punched out flower was used for the centre along with a bit of bling.   The background was created by stamping and then embossing (with green) the large Paisley in random areas onto white glossy paper.  Next I blended  the same colours of Distress Inks to cover the white and layered this onto purple and then green card stock.  A few rhinestones & Diamond Stickles along the edges of the Paisleys were added for the final touch.  I love a little bling !

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by !

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C109

Today is a good day to stay inside and work on cards, it's so dreary and cold - what happened to our Indian summer ?  I'm busy this week preparing cards for classes, but taking time to enter this card in a challenge that is sponsored by the Outlines Rubber Stamp Company.   You can find the information about the challenge and Design Team samples at Crazy 4 Challenges.

I used Outline's J984 Holly Background for this card.   I stamped and embossed the image with Gold twice on Plum card stock.    I painted the holly leaves with green Mica Colour Interference Paint and used Smooch Ink on the berries.   I also added Glossy Accents to the berries.  I cut out a few additional leaves from the 2nd image and used pop dots to add dimension. The folded card stock is a metallic green which I think compliments the holly leaves.    The sentiment is by Craftsmart.    Gold ribbon and Starform border stickers add the final touches !

I hope you can see the sheen that the MicaColour paints add !

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day !

Stamped used:   Shirley Doodle Wavy Poinsettia, Impression Obsession Cover a Card - Flourishes CC027, Penny Black - Crystalline Sentiments & Snowflakes 30-018 (with Dye Ink), the leaves are from Hero Arts CL427 Antique Flower set.

Christmas Doodle Bird

I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful Thanksgiving weekend !    Awesome weather !

The 'Shirley Doodle'  stamps are starting to arrive at  Crop Circles.   I used the Bird Doodle to create this Christmas Card.

I stamped and embossed the bird with gold and used Mica Colour Paints - Stargazer to colour  it.   I love using these paints they add a beautiful sheen !     I used red & green card stock along with 'Yuletide' paper by K&Company to build the layers.     Starform border stickers, gold ribbon, stickles and a feather add the finishing touches.

This bird doodle can be used for many occasions.   I painted this image with Tom Bow markers.  I used olive green & blue card stock along with 'Tim Coffey' paper by K&Company.    Glitter, navy ribbon and blue rhinestones add the final touches.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day !

I'm entering this Halloween Card into Impression Obsession's Challenge - "It's a Costume Party".  Check out the details here:  Impression Obsession Blog.

This card was fun !   I used IO's F2353 Jack Chandelier Stamp (it's so cute).  I embossed with black and then coloured with Tom Bow markers.     I highlighted the pumpkin 'light's with Orange Smooch Ink and then used Glossy Accents to add dimension.    Spellbinders S5026 was used to cut the glossy white card stock and then I inked around the edges.   The paper is by Basic Grey- 'Eerie', that I've had for a while.  I added wide Copper ribbon, narrow black ribbon & bow and some black rhinestones for the final touches.
