Fun with Stickers and a little accident

Good Morning everyone.

Unfortunately I'm 'out of commission' for making cards.   On Tuesday evening we were getting ready to entertain outside when I had a little accident while rushing to bring things in when a big storm suddenly came up.     I've learned the hard way that I should NEVER run in heavy rain on a concrete patio, especially while carrying a heavy patio umbrella and stand.  I fell onto the concrete and my left index finger & knee took most of the impact.

So now I have a splint on my left index finger, it has a minor fracture (difficult to type) and a brace covering my left leg as I've damaged tendons.    I always thought my knees looked very 'knobby' well now it's really weird looking :)   So card making and other things are difficult at the moment.   I've had to cancel many plans unfortunately.   OK enough whining, I'm lucky that it's not worse and in time will heal so I'm thankful.

I'm scheduled for two classes this September at Crop Circles, Peterborough, Ontario - Fun with Stickers & Creating Backgrounds with Smooch Inks.    These 3 cards will be created in the Sticker Class.

The Starform Sticker images were attached to Vellum and dry embossed at the back before adhering to the cardstock.  The first card has a background created with Distress Inks, ripped cardstock and circle negative.   The Sentiment on this first card is by Penny Black 4178H The Wind.    Part of the images were coloured with markers.   Now I'm on the look out for a nice Sail Boat stamp :)

Ok that's all for now.  I'm not sure when I'll be back,  but hopefully soon :)
Thanks for your visit & have a great day

Asian Theme & No Stamps

Good evening everyone !     Our Winter has been kind to us so far this year, as it's been milder than normal most days, but I've been fighting a head cold which is zapping my energy.     We've been experiencing changes in temperatures that range from minus 24C (with wind chill) to  plus 10C in 2 days.

When I first started making cards I got hooked on Starform stickers (pre rubber stamps) so of coarse I have quite a stash of them, at least a 20-year supply !    I went through them this evening and pulled a sheet of this lady and decided to make a card with her.

I adhered the sticker lady to Velum paper and then turned her over on a foam pad.  Using a stylus I embossed some of the areas which turns it white.   I added some colour with Gelly Pens and then cut her out.     I popped her onto handmade paper and then layered with Asian theme designer paper and co-ordinating card stock.  Flowers along with co-ordinating corner and border stickers are the finishing touches.    Very easy card !

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day !

Get Your Shine On Challenge

Good afternoon !   It's still snowy here, but nice & sunny !   We've had a fun weekend with friends & family and enjoying lots of food & Christmas cheer and are just chilling out today.   So here I am entering another challenge.   They are fun and I've won some nice shopping sprees, so it's all good !

I'm entering this card into a challenge at webstore Dolce Stamps and Cards.    The challenge details and beautiful Design Team cards can be found here at their Blog:  Get Your Shine On.

I also have quite a stash of stickers hanging out here !    This card was created mainly from stickers and Micro Fine Glitter so it has some sparkle & shine for this challenge.   The ornaments are Elizabeth Craft Stickers which I used 2-way transfer sheets to place onto doubled sided tape by Sookwang.     I peeled off half of the little sections with a small knife and added Ocean Spray Micro Fine Glitter.   After removing the balance of little pieces I added Rose Copper Micro Fine Glitter.  I stamped F605 Evergreen Bough (by Rosewood) twice as it wasn't long enough for this card onto blue/green card stock and embossed with silver.  I used tiny border stickers for the 'hangers' and added a little Merry Christmas sticker by Starform.    I added the ornaments with pop dots and then layered with co-ordinating designer paper (sorry don't have the name but it's from a Basic Grey mini-pad), Metallic Rose & Blue Green cardstock.    I also added Starform holograph border stickers and rose stickles.

You can use this technique with lots of Sticker Designs.   If you are interested in trying out Micro Fine Glitter, Ellen, a Design Team member for Dolce Stamps and Cards has an excellent tutorial on using Glitter if you click onto her card at Dolce Stamps and Cards Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day !
Cheers !
