Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. It's a long weekend here, as it's a civic holiday on Monday, lots of people are enjoying a mid summer's vacation. It continues to be very hot and humid, I'm not a 'hot weather' girl, I prefer moderate temperatures. But eventually our bodies adjust and we don't notice it as much and balmy evenings on the deck or patio are wonderful.
Recently I took up a talented artist's, Win Dinn, from Western Canada offer to swap ATCs. I was looking forward to seeing her art in miniature format as I know she uses lots of texture in her mixed media.
Well to my surprise I received 4 ATCs and many pieces of fun texture art that I can use on cards or mixed media pieces. Thank you again Win !
Below is the ATC that I mailed out to Win. I used a Gelli print and a Hummingbird stamp by Designs by Ryn.
Stamps by Designs by Ryn: Leafy Branch and Perching Hummingbird. Ryn's stamps are also available in unmounted sets at a very good value.
I sent along this card (below and seen in a prior post) with the ATC.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend,
Shirley

ATC Exchange
Hello Everyone, I hope you are having a great week. My knee is slowly improving and my index finger is much better, but still can't bend these joints. I had a visit to the fracture clinic this week and the very good news is that I don't have damaged ligaments in my knee. I'm still moving very slow and of coarse there is pain if I try to do too much. It's difficult to look at gardens that need work and ignore them. OK no more whining....
Two weeks ago I traded ATCs with a talented lady, Maria, who lives in Belguim. You will find her beautiful work at her Blog: Maria's Knutselplezier. (translated is Maria's Craft Pleasure). Sometimes overseas mail takes a while but early this week I received a beautiful ATC from Maria.
Below is the ATC that I mailed to Maria:
I created the background with Tombows, water & salt. The images are from Chocolate Baroque Gossamer Wings. I stamped the image with black ink direct to the background. The wings were stamped again on Velum and coloured with Tombow markers. I popped up the 2nd wings for a little dimension. I also coloured in the butterflies. I used a black pigment pen to add the 'grass' outline. I doodled a flower on the back but forgot to take a photo.
Below is the BEAUTIFUL ATC & envelope that I received from Maria. It was like getting 3 in one !
Maria included lots of beautiful inking, stamping, masking and colouring with Copics on all these pieces. I love it. Thank you Maria !
That's all for today, I hope to be back creating soon. Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend,
Shirley

ATC Swap !
Good Morning Crafters ! Happy Mother's Day !
If you are looking for my Blog Candy post please go here: Blog Candy Draw is May 17th.
I've been distracted from card making lately as I've been busy with other activities including working in the gardens.
I 'met' a nice friend (also named Shirley) through the Chocolate Baroque Forum. See my side bar for a link, it's similar to Paper Planet. Shirley suggested that we swap ATC's (artist trading card) when I admired ATCs that she posted on the Forum and asked how she created them. So of coarse I agreed but I'm not experienced at creating ATC's.
Below is the ATC I mailed to Shirley
The background was created from Tombow markers, water & salt. I have lots of left overs here. I stamped one of the flowers from the Chocolate Baroque Fantasy Meadow set and embossed with a metallic power. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft Life Sentiments set which was stamped with Cocoa Dye Ink.
And below is the beautiful ATC that I received from Shirley ! It's like a mini-painting I love it !
She explained her technique for the background: "I did lots of blending with distress inks on an A4 piece of card, then I misted water into my hand & then flicked it on, Last but not least I put a small amount of perfect pearls into a mini mister with some water shook it up to mix & then sprayed that onto background & dried with heat gun" Obviously she then added the tree & bird stamps (also from Chocolate Baroque) to create the scene !
That's all for today. I hope to be back later in the week with a card or two. I have some cool looking texture stamps from Designs by Ryn that I'm anxious to get inked up !
Thanks for your visits & have a great week !
