Fantasy Trees & Award

Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well.

I was honoured this week by Zoe at Zoeblingcards with the Liebster Blog Award.   If you have a chance, please visit Zoe's Blog to check out her beautiful creations.      This is the fifth time I've received this award & I'm thrilled that fellow bloggers have chosen me.    The idea behind this award to pass it on to 5 other blogs that you enjoy visiting & who have less than 200 followers.      I've already passed it on so I cannot chose again, it's too difficult.

I would like to welcome the new followers and visitors that stop by.   Blogging would not be so much fun without you, thank you for your support.

I have several cards today using stamps from the Fantasy Woodland set by Chocolate Baroque.    I used different images & techniques for each one.   There are so many wonderful images in this set and I've had fun 'playing' with them.

This first card is a mixed media design and I've joined into the "Use Stamps" Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps & More.

I used Dylusions Inks (red & purple) to create the background on the  card above.  I also used Acrylic paints, Modelling Creme & Stickles with TCW Circle Explosion & Dylusions Luscious Leaves Stencils.  The tree is from Fantasy Woodland which I stamped with black Stazon.

I got my Pan Pastels out which blend so beautifully for this next card.

I  blended the Pan Pastels to create the 'mood' behind the trees.   I also added a little design with TCW's Mini Solace stencil and Distress Ink.     I stamped the delicate trees from the Fantasy Woodland set along with the quote from  Words of Inspiration (an awesome little set) with black Versafine Ink.

And for the card below I've changed up the colour combination and used Smooch Inks.

The background was created using Pool, Lime & Ocean Smooch Inks.    For a description of the technique please see my blog post here.     I embossed one of the small trees from Fantasy Woodland with gold to create leaves in the background.   The main tree image was also embossed with gold & I blended Smooch ink to colour.    I embossed a 2nd one to decoupage.   The die cut is Spellbinder S5-062 and the small piece under the Owl charm is S5-063.

The photo does not do the Owl charm justice, he has lots of bling that it hard to see.

Well that's all for today !
Thanks again for stopping by,
Shirley

Stylized Trees by Ryn

Hello everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.   I had fun attending a papercraft show with my crafty friends - I have a few more stencils & stamps to add to my growing collection :)    I also took a fun workshop with Christy Riopel where we created an inky mess working with stencils & spray inks.

I have more Christmas Cards to show today.   All of these easy cards using Design by Ryn stamps feature her Stylized Tree set (CM-C12).   I love the movement in the versatile tree designs.   The smaller tree in the set is also great to over-stamp on  backgrounds.

The  Stylized Tree on the above card was embossed with Gold along with Ryn's Snowflakes. I blended Evergreen Bough Distress Ink around the tree & background. I found a couple of metal corner charms in my stash and added them for a little 'glam'.

I created the above card for Ryn a long time ago, but haven't shown it on my Blog.  The Stylized Trees were embossed with gold.    I also applied Versamark Ink (using the pad) around the border of the white card stock and embossed with gold.  I blended a little green DI around the tree that was popped up and layered as shown.

I created the background on the above card with Pan Pastels -  I'm still learning & playing with them.   I stamped the Stylized Tree with Midnight Colorbox Ink and the small doves from Ryn's  Silhouette Dove Set with Memento Grape Jelly Dye Ink.    I must have rocked the stamp slightly and managed to get a little extra ink below the tree. I didn't want to do the background over again and decided to just 'go with the flow & let it go' :)     It's hard to see, but I created 'snow' using a glue pen and extra fine holograph glitter.

I embossed the Stylized Tree on the above card again with gold along with the sentiment from Penny Black's - Christmas Cheer clear set.   Next I blended Shabby Shutters Distress Ink around the page and then stamped with Ryn's Sea Bubbles Set to create 'snow' texture around the parameter of the background.   I used the small bubble stamp with Brilliance Gold which is hard to see along with Shabby Shutters & Scattered Straw Distress Inks.

If you have time, please stop in at Eileen's Blog and at Miranda's Blog where you will find beautiful work using Ryn's stamps.   You can also find lots of inspiration at Ryn's Facebook Page.

Thanks for your visit and have a great day.

Fill my Life with Music

Good Evening Everyone !  I hope you've enjoyed the weekend.   It been HOT here again !

I was working this weekend with another one of Designs by Ryn new Faerie stamps.  This time I used her beautiful Harp Faerie.   She has the most gorgeous wings with feathers on the ends.

Stamps:   Design by Ryn - CM-M11 Harp Faerie
               Impression Obsession - CC018 Cover a Card - Greenery
Magenta - CSet 15 "Fill my Life" is from the set

The background is created by stamping the Greenery CAC stamp with Peeled Paint DI over a sheet of Basic Grey light blue & slightly pattern paper from a 6x6 pad.  (sorry don't remember which one) I blended Peacock Feathers DI around the edge.

The angel was embossed with black on water colour paper and coloured using my Tom bow markers with brush & water.  I added glitter to the middle area of the wings and the feathers on her dress.   I cut her out and mounted her with a feather behind to compliment the feathers on her wings & dress.

The quote is from the Magenta set which was also embossed with black and distressed with Shabby Shutters & Peacock Feathers DI.

I was also playing with my Pan Pastels (for the first time, shame) and tried creating scenery around the Harp Faerie in the card below.

I can't say that that it turned out quite the way I wanted & I'm not happy with how it photographed, but I thought I would post her to show what I was trying to do !   The grass turned out a bit muddy (maybe shouldn't point this out) from trying to watercolour on top of the Pan Pastels trying to create a shadow under her, not a good idea.    I'll try again sometime soon :)

That's all for this evening.  Thanks for your visit  & kind comments !

Update Monday Morning :   Do you need a laugh ?  Then please visit Darnell's Blog.  She just cracks me up with her hilarious interpretations of every day things that happen to all of us.  Her cards are beautiful & elegant and she usually has a great story to go along with them.   Today she talks about 'why she wishes she didn't have to blow her nose' - you will laugh at the reason why and will relate to what she is saying, at least I sure did !

Have a great day !
