CB Colour Challenge #28

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

After I made this quick card I realized that it matches the colours for the current challenge at Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge #28 so I will join in the fun.   These are favorite colours and I'm sure they were stuck in my head after seeing the beautiful samples at the challenge blog.

I used the resist embossing technique for the first time in a long while.   I embossed the tree and words from the fabulous Steampunk Christmas with white powder.     Next I sprinkled Brusho powders, spritzed with water, let them blend and then sprayed a little turquoise Dylusions ink.    I also stamped with a snowflake from Reindeer Landscape in the background.

Below is the beautiful colour sample (created by Miranda) for the current Challenge which ends on November 15th.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

Chocolate Baroque, Colour Challenge #10

Hello everyone,

I have a design to show today for Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge #10.

This months' colours are fabulous, lots of fun to 'play' with.   I used Rusty Hinge with a little Picked Raspberry Distress Inks in the background.  I over stamped using fragments from Texture Fragments (which seems to be one of my favorite CB sets).   The whimsical image from Fantastic Florals was coloured with Rusty Hinge, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks (on my craft mat using a brush and water).   I highlighted a little with a white Gelly Roll pen.   I didn't take the time to decoupage the butterfly, it would have popped up if I had, next time I will :).

And here is the gorgeous colour inspiration, designed by Miranda, for this month's challenge:

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge 8 Free Download

Hello everyone,

I have a design today using the gorgeous (and free) download available from Chocolate Baroque's Challenge Blog.   I also used the beautiful set launched last month, Sketchy Doodle Landscape.

This was an easy card to create, it was relaxing to cut out the flowers and leaves.  I printed two pages of the free download that is available here.   I stamped the flowers and leaves onto one sheet, cut out and attached to the second sheet cut for the background.  I highlighted the flowers with a white gelly roll pen and added pearls to the centres.   'With love' is from Macintosh Sentiments.

I was honored to have one of my card designs published in the April 2015 Issue of Craftstamper magazine!  Whew hew!   (page 78 if you have a copy and want to take a peek as I cannot show it on my blog yet :))

Thanks for your visit and a have a great day,

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have a card to show today designed for Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge No 8.   I really like this month's vibrant colours.  I used stamps from the Indian Textiles set for this design.

The background was created with orange, yellow and lemon Brushos sprayed with gold Glimmermist.  I stamped the background images with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.

I coloured the main flower image with Prisma Pencils.   I also used a stencil with writing with purple 3D stamp paint in the background.

For a detailed Step by Step description of how I created this card please visit Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge Blog.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #7 Free Download

Hello everyone,

I have a design today using the free download available at Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge blog.

This month's free digital paper is a rustic wood grain design that is great for masculine designs.  The card below was very quick to create.

The background is the free download that can be found here.  We would love it if you could join us in the current challenge.  You could win a gift card to shop at Chocolate Baroque !

I stamped a peacock from Peacock Parade with stamp glue and rubbed Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes - Egyptian Gold over the image.  It's extremely difficult to take a photo with all the glimmer you'll have to take my word for it, the image is very shimmery!  The flakes picked up the colours in the background.

Chocolate Baroque - Challenge #5

Hello my dear blog friends, I hope you are doing well.

I have a Christmas design today for Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge - #5.

The background is a piece of Basic Grey designer paper from my stash.  I like using the solid colours to stamp over and then colour with my Prisma pencils.    This one took some time, but it's very relaxing, I enjoy it very much.    The background is one of the fabulous Big Bold Backgrounds - Snowflake Outline.  The angel image is from the  Gothic Angels set, I coloured her with Inktense pencils and added lots of stickles to her wings.

And below is the challenge inspiration photo.  We would love it if you could join us for a chance to win a £15 gift voucher at Chocolate Baroque.

This is a card design by me using the same techniques, you may have seen my post in January 2014

Chocolate Baroque Challenge #4 in Nouveau Style

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well this week.

I have a design to show today using the Free Digital Background available from Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge Blog, which features the colours for the current challenge:

The background is the free download that you can find here.   I stamped the beautiful lovebirds from Nouveau Lovebirds with black ink, coloured with Inktense pencils and highlighted with a white Gelly roll pen and glitter.  The background behind the birds was created using Distress Ink & water on my craft mat.  I stamped the deco pieces from the set on the background paper (not straight at the top, it was hard for me to just leave it that way!).  Love is from Artistic Expressions

And below is the challenge inspiration photo.  We would love it if you could join us for a chance to win a £15 gift voucher at Chocolate Baroque.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #3 and a Free Download!

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.  I'm sorry I'm behind visiting blogs.

I have a design today for Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge #3 using this month's free digital download for the background.

If you would like the two beautiful FREE downloads just head over to CB's Colour Challenge Blog to 'pick them up'.  We would love it if you joined us in the challenge as well.

I used both Autumn Base and Autumn Overcoat for this design.  It was quick to make this card, the flowers took the most time which I coloured with Distress Inks (Walnut and Rusty Hinge).  I also added a little Rusty Hinge DI to the bottom background.   The Fairy was stamped with Coffee Archival Ink and is from the  October Fairy set.

The die cuts are Crealie CL CF25 and CL CS 02.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge 2

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week.   This is a scheduled post while I'm in the process of moving.   The move went smoothly but it's a lot of work as anyone who has moved knows.  It doesn't get easier as we get older.

We are very pleased with the fantastic response to Chocolate Baroque's new Colour Challenge.  I created this tag for Chocolate Baroque's Colour Challenge No 2 using the inspiration design colours (shown at the bottom of this post).

I embossed the cogs from Steampunk Christmas with white.  I blended the following Distress Inks over the embossing to create the background:  Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo.  I stamped two flowers from Punky Flowers with Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge at random.   I blended Dried Marigold and Chipped Sapphire on the butterfly from Steampunk Butterfly that was stamped with Cobalt Archival Ink, decoupaged and popped up over the background.  I also stamped the butterfly on the background so that the antennae didn't need to be cut out.  Art is from Artistic Expressions.  I used a white Gellyroll pen for highlighting and added Glossy Accents to the body which is hard to see in the photo).

Below is the gorgeous Colour Inspiration created by DT member Doreen:

If you have time we would love if you could join in the fun and for a chance to win £15 gift voucher at Chocolate Baroque.

All the details for the Challenge Blog can be found here.

I will continue to be on a blog break until the Fall while we get settled into our new home and create new gardens.   My craft room is still sitting full of boxes and needs work.  Thanks for your visit and have a great day.
