Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. I haven't had time in my craft room lately however today the beautiful Hummingbirds by Designs by Ryn were calling me from my desk where they have been sitting.
For a change I've used purples instead of the blues and greens that I used in the last three designs, so maybe these birds no longer look like hummingbirds. This design isn't as dark as my photo, but purples sometimes are difficult to capture.
I used Distress Inks and water on my craft mat to start and dragged mixed media paper through it. When dry I used Ryn's Maidenhair Fern stencil with white acrylic paint and then Peacock Feathers Distress Ink over top. I added some circles with acrylic paint and the cap off a little glue stick.
Designs by Ryn stamps used: Hummingbird 2 set, Rain Drops, Texture - Unmounted Set (Water Droplets and Circles Custer). I coloured the birds with Prisma pencils.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week,
Shirley

Love the colours and the background. Great card. Hope Archie is well and getting lots of outside time. :) It's wet and cold here.
Beautiful colours, stunning card!
What a great colour palette Shirley and the raindrops are placed perfectly to balance it all.

Stunning Shirley, I love the colours (they are a little like the sky here in the UK at the moment) and the gorgeous background you've created for the birds.

Another WOW card Shirley and these hummers and the colour combination is beautiful and the fern and water droplets go so well and then the touches of white with the rings and the little white dots complement and finish it so prettily. x

Hi teamie, Bluebirds, singing a song....Bluebirds, nothing but blue birds, all day long! Had to think of this song (Blue skies from Ella Fitzgerald) when seeing your beautiful card! Love the blues, hugs Miranda
Hey Shirley, this piece has a magical feel to it. Almost as if these Hummingbirds are nocturnal. I wonder if there are any nocturnal hummingbirds?! Many thanks for this Shirley!
Lovely as always, Shirley - I like the purple hummers you've done, and I agree with Ryn that they're magical!
So beautiful Shirley! Colours are fabulous, very atmospheric. Xxx
Ohhh! Jewel tones in nature and Shirley's gorgeous choice of magical garden enhancements! Beautiful and way beyond my imagination. I love it!
Love the colours of this.....and the stamps & design are fab xx
Absolutely beautiful ! Love the colors and the stamping ! I'm working on a hummingbird card, but it isn't by far as lovely as yours ! :)) All the best ! Enny

I know I keep saying the same thing Shirley - but you do use the prettiest color combinations!

Beautiful! I love the white stenciling--I never would think to do that!
This one is just magical. Love the combination of the ferns, the birds and waterdroplets. The water looks so very 'realistic & wet' with the techniques you've done. The white stenciling with the DI over top, really creates such an awesome look. The purples & blues look just marvelous to me, and it's just a work of art! TFS (and I echo Sandy's comments. We run out of superlatives to describe what you do! LOL).
What a stunning card...great use of the stamps, stencil and colours, Shirley.
Hugs, Alie
