Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great weekend.
Thank you so much for your kind words of comfort about the recent loss of our sweet cat. We are heartbroken and miss him very much. It will take time to heal as we know from experience.
I thought I would post something more cheerful today. I'm still enjoying most of the lessons with Lifebook 2017 (Willowing Arts). A recent lesson's focus (with Tamara Laporte) was to use minimal supplies. I enjoy mixed media and was surprised at how much I enjoyed using just 3 Tombow markers to mix colours along with one more flesh colour marker and black & white pens.
The 9x12 journal page below makes me think about sisters, I'm lucky to have three of them :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week,
Shirleyx

Yes it does take time, I still think about my lovely boy Cuillin after about six years and with having my new puss Teallch, I still talk to him as he is buried in our back garden, they are so much part of the family, Kate x
Wow, just three pens? This is sensational in every way, Shirley! You are - as I've always said - a true artist!! Hugs, Darnell

Wow, this is just gorgeous Shirley and your limited palette has worked beautifully. Each of these that you have done is better than the last, and I think I love this one best of all. As an only child I can appreciate how lovely it must be to have three sisters. x

Oh, Shirley, this is my favourite so far. For using only three colours you did a magical job creating something so bright and beautiful. I can't stop starring at this one.

Shirley, I saw this over on FB and had to come over and say, "How full-of-light these exquisite souls are!" Truly an artist in every way, you never cease to amaze me. Oh this is lovely, Shirley - my sister is gone now, and I miss her like crazy. You've given me a great burst of memories, and I am truly grateful!
Imagine having three sisters - how wonderful.
I'm also having a hard time imagining using only three plus one colours, but it sounds like a good experiment and you have certainly succeeded in creating many colours. I love this painting, maybe one of your best? and the way you have arranged the flowers around the girls and the little house is terrific.
Beautiful twins, what a lovely mixed media piece. Love the use of colours. Greeting Janny

Hi Shirley, I am in awe of the talent you have. What an amazing page, their faces are so expressive with the colours used and the use of shadow and highlight you have given them such beauty. A piece worthy of a frame and place in the house where it can be admired for its beauty. Take care and know that life will get better.
