I have something different to show today, a textured collage on a 8 x 10 canvas. I think this was inspired by Finnabair or maybe from what I've seen at blogs and/or Pinterest. I'm drawn to vintage designs, but I don't create them often.
I struggled a little with this. At one point it was brown and blue and the end result is after a few layers of Gesso to 'start over'.
Materials:
- light molding paste with and without using stencils
- gel medium
- lace
- flourish die cuts (Tim Holtz)
- drywall tape
- metal embellishments, buttons and rhinestones
- Silks acrylic glaze
- Acrylic paint
- Gesso
- Dylusions inks - purple and turquoise
- Stickles
- silver embossing enamel
- the vintage photo is one that I found on Pinterest, it did say 'free printable'.

Oh WOW Shirley it looks like you have had a really fun time making this stunning piece of art. I love the colours and the textures, also the gorgeous image you've used. What would we do without Gesso. A snow day seem to be the ideal day for staying in the warm and crafting to me. Have a great weekend.

I am so pleased you persevered with this Shirley because the finished piece is an absolute delight and the fusion of colours and the little hints of gold beautiful.
Keep warm in the snowy weather - we have just a sprinkling today.

It may have been a bit of a struggle, but it was worth it! Beautiful - I love all the materials you've used to create that texture.
This is stunning Shirley and the colours and textures are beautiful and it was worth persevering with it as it has turned out to be a wonderful piece of work. x
Oh, Shirley, how beautiful. I showed it to my boyfriend and he thought it was pretty too. I wish I had the talent to create things as lovely as you do. I really need to experiment some more.
Loved your work. What did you put the collage on? It looks like paper but how thick is it or did you do it on canvas. I love doing textured work but can't seem to do the spray inks right. Any suggestions?
Yvonne
Oh Shirley--this is just stunning! You are an artist & I love the colors you ended up with!

Hi teamie, this is such a beautiful vintage creation! Would love to have the time to start such a project! I wish we had some snow here too, the weather is very depressive here. The little man is very disappointed that it is still no winter with snow and iceskating! xxMiranda
Struggled ... start over with a few layers of gesso ... no matter what Shirley your end creation is simply divine. Bring on more "Vintage" is what I say sweets. x x

Hi Yvonne, I've just added to my post, this collage is on a 8x10 canvas. I just play around with the inks and use water and paper towel to blot off if necessary. Thanks for stopping by :)
Very very beautiful, Shirley! Love the textures and all fabulous embellishments you've added. Love the colours too.
Hugs, Mar

ARG! I just lost my whole comment! (temper tantrum thrown, and I will now strive to rewrite) LOL.
Shirley, when the photo of your project popped up, I inhaled deeply and sighed - it is INCREDIBLE. Loving every tiny element, every texture, every hint of color, every bit of your masterpiece is gorgeous. Although it likely would have been beautiful in the more subdued brown tones, the colors you ultimately achieved are amazing - I love them. Your entire project turned out beautifully. Thank you for explaining how you achieved the textures, and which products were used. Lovely! hugs, de
This is really pretty!
OMG, I nearly missed this one, - it's stunning!!!!! Amazing colours and design, and like I said before, I love your step by steps. The result is incredible, you could never tell you had struggled with this one!
What a sweetie!! Love all the texture and the delicious ( :) ) colours! Something to look at and cheer up from! Have a good week, Gerrina
Your layers of paint and gesso really made your canvas so rich and gorgeous Shirley!
Beautiful textures and precious girl too.

I'm adding my WOW right along with the other commenters...this is awesome. You do Vintage just as wonderfully well as you do the spray backgrounds. I'm loving the textures and the soft colors around the frame. The printable is just perfect with the embellies you've selected. Of course I'm very partial to the use of buttons too, and so pretty with the flowers. The way you've added the paper layers looks very 'lace like', and the flourish with the buttons & flowers is so pretty. Well done! I had an interesting time reading through your supply list. WTGo. TFS & Hugs
Wow beautiful art, with beautiful textures and colors. Janny
