Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. Spring is making an appearance here, we've had a few nice days, it feels great.
Maria, one of my kind and talented teammates at the Chocolate Baroque Design Team mailed me some Tyvek envelopes after I admired her gorgeous artwork using this material. Just colour and then heat between card stock with an iron - amazing texture is the result. If you have time please take a visit to Maria's blog here, her colourful designs are very beautiful, I'm sure you will enjoy your visit:)
I had fun with my first 'play' using Tyvek along with stamps from Designs by Ryn for the card below. It's an unusual colour scheme for the sea, but what can I say, except that it didn't start out as a sea scene.
The background was created with Dylusions inks and stencils. The texture of the 'coral' is with the Tyvek heated. The fish is from Design by Ryn's Koi Set and the bubbles from Rising Bubbles (the bubbles are on sale...50% off during April!) one of my favorite stamps by Ryn. Hello is from Impression Obsession - A3579.
Thanks for your visit and have a wonderful day,
Shirley

It does have a real coral appearance doesn't it. I do like the colours - gives it a very oriental feel which is quite apposite.
Hope things are warming up.

Beautifully done Shirley. Very innovative creation of the coral. The background gives the feel of being in the ocean.

I'm glad to hear that spring finally arrived in Canada. What a beautiful card you have made, love the colors and structure!!
The texture achieved is sensational.
I fist used tyvek when I received it as part of a DT package, I remember I used a heat gun so to use an iron is new knowledge for me,thank you for sharing that. It looks incredible and so perfect on your card.

Gorgeous card Shirley, I love the colours, the tyvek certainly creates a striking effect, it looks amazing! Cathy x
I love the citrus colours you have used Shirley, and the tyvek gives such a lovely textured look which works perfectly with these stamps of Ryn's. As you say an unusual colour for the sea, but what the heck we all need a bit of artistic license sometimes. I'm glad your weather is improving at last. Hope you have had a good weekend. x
What a neat card, Shirley! Love the created coral! So glad you can no longer build snowmen--yah for Spring!
A wonderful card Shirley!
I love very much the colors and the structure.
Finally it's spring in Canada, so that you can enjoy the flowers and the sun.
Grtz, Annemie.

I like it. Very beautiful card

Love your colorful use of tyvek - years ago I made some pins with it, using brilliant paints and embossing powders - I'd forgotten about it until seeing Maria's blog recently. Love the way you have utilized it for the coi. I did not know about ironing it between cardstock - we always used a heat tool. Thank you for the tip! Beautiful colors on your card, of course - just gorgeous! hugs, de
Wow Shirley - what an awesome product - the texture is amazing. I have never heard of Tyvek before - love how you used it for the coral, and your underwater scene is fabulous!
Hope all is well with you and yours - Sylvia xxx
Hey Shirley, I think it's great that you turned the card into a sea scene even thought that wasn't your initial idea. It's refreshing to see an underwater scene without any blue. It's beautiful :) The Tyvek paper is really neat too. Great texture! Many many thanks for this beautiful card!
Stunning - loving the tyvek, must try that!
That's an amazing card in fantastic colors. Great technique.
A gorgeous card with amazing texture. The colors are fantastic.

An amazing fish on an amazing background with this amazing Tyvekstuff.
So, Shirley, your card is simply amazing and colourfull.
You are so right, that Maria makes beautiful work and she is such a nice lady.
I met her during the ArtSpecially Event this year and we were talking like old friends!
Never met her before, isn't that great??? Is that what stamping does to us?? One big happy stamping family when we meet each other?

PS: you can see the little girl on my blog where we were talking about lately!
Beautiful sea scene, love your way with colours :D Have a wonderful holiday weekend, hugs Gay x
Now I have to find out what Tyvek is! I learn so much from your blog. I'll check out the link you provided. I love your underwater scene. I've seen some waters at the beaches in Fla, where there was a definite green to the coloration. This is beautiful (of course!) and I love all that texture below the little fish. He looks very happy swimming around in his yellow & green waters, with his little bubbles going upward. Just a lovely scene. Happy Easter and glad you've had a few sun days to brighten up things where you live. Hugs & TFS
How pretty your background is with the different color wash and stencils! I really like your cute fish with the bubbles and the Tyvek is wonderful as coral!
