Mackintosh Hearts

Happy Weekend everyone, I hope you are doing well.

Chocolate Baroque has launched gorgeous (I always say that but it's true) stamps this month.    They used Charles Rennie Mackintosh artwork as inspiration for two new A5 stamp sets -  Mackintosh Windows and Mackintosh Beauty along with a clear set - Mackintosh Sentiments.     And as always, the new sets are offered at an introductory price for the month of February.

I have two heart designs today using stamps from the Mackintosh Beauty set.

The background for the above card was created using Persimmon, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks with an Acrylic Block.   I stamped a couple of the roses from Mackintosh Windows with the same inks.  The main heart was stamped with Cobalt Archival ink and coloured with my Prisma pencils.  'With Love' is from the new Mackintosh Sentiments.

I used a Gelli Plate print for the background below:

I used black Archival ink for all the stamping and again coloured with my Prisma Pencils.   I cut the rose out and also cut around it on black cardstock to make it pop out from the background.   'With love' is again from Mackintosh Sentiments.

Here is a look at the Mackintosh Windows and Mackintosh Beauty A5 sets:

If you have a chance to visit Chocolate Baroque's Design Team Blog  my talented teammates have beautiful designs to show using the new stamps.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day,
Shirley

These are beautiful stamps, and two gorgeous cards Shirley. I love the cobalt blue with the orangy red of the first card with that flower heart in co-ordinating colours and the pretty white sheer ribbon which complements it perfectly. I like the way you have left the white space on that heart on the second card, and the background purply red is just so lush and rich, again with that white ribbon. I think the Mackintosh Beauty set, which you have mainly used here, would be my favourite. I have just
treated myself to several sets of CB stamps and I contemplated getting these but then decided on some others instead. Now seeing these gorgeous cards I 'm wishing I had included at least one of these sets! Oh well, I will have to start a new wishlist. Have a lovely weekend Shirley. x

Both lovely(of course)! The second one is my FAV! Your Gelli plate b'ground is a visual feast, without detracting from the gorgeous heart centre.

wow, Shirley! how ornate, intricate, and symbolic these images are! ABSOLUTELY gorgeous in every way. I love how you use the Chocolate Baroque stamps. I always feel "immersed" by your artwork with the amazing shapes, configurations, and flowing colors. thank you for sharing with me. Maybe this sounds corny, but I always feel like your soul is showing in your artwork. hugs, de

It's always a treat to see what you make with the new stamps every month, and you always create such stunners. This month is no exception these two are beautiful, the gelli background on the second card looks like roses have been etched into it. I love the new designs and ordered straight away, just got to cut them out now.

We have a lovely sunny day here today for a change, I'm sure it won't last.

A lovely demonstration of two different ways of using the one stamp! The first is very effective because of the stamping in the Cobalt Blue & I wonder if my eyes are playing tricks or those three little pearls really are heart shaped. They certainly pick up the little dots below the 'o' of the sentiment. Your distressed edges safe so effective on the main panel with the way you have added blue ink to the edges to reflect the mat beneath.
I had to smile with the second one for there your mats have smooth edges - the opposite of your first. Your black mat for the heart is very 'Mackintosh' too & I love the soft shading of that heart. Your two borders look super & I particularly like the way the bottom one is placed so as those two leaves just 'embrace' the tip of the heart whilst the top border hangs down into the dip of the heart!. Leaving the heart's centre white helps to really bring out the white tones in your gelli plate background - or perhaps that should be the other way around. A bit of an essay here…………
I hope you're managing to keep warm. We're still very wet!!

PS - noticed a rather unfortunate spelling mistake so have deleted my original comment & replaced it with this!

My jaw is on the floor! I always know the colors are going to blow me away when I get to your blog, Shirley--absolutely stunning! The first card is going to the top of my favorites list--gotta try the acrylic block technique with those colors which I have--have never gotten such a wonderful result.
