A Peacock and Gardens

Hello everyone !

I hope you had a great weekend and getting a chance to watch some of the Olympics.   I haven't had time for crafting recently - it's summer & we are busy, but I thought I would post a card today that I created recently for a friend's birthday.

She likes Peacocks so I took out my Chocolate Baroque -  Peacock Fan set along with Impression Obsessions - Peacock Feathers 3065-SM to create this card.

The background was created using Tombow markers, water & salt on watercolour paper.     This one was created by using left-over paint on my craft mat so the colours are subtle.      The Peacock, Feathers & Centre were all embossed with gold, coloured with Tombow markers, cut out and adhered to the background.  A few rhinestones, and layers of cardstock and it's done !

I've been able to garden a little more as my knee is doing much better :)  I'm so lucky.    It's not 100% but I'm happy to get back into physical activities again.    I thought I would share some photos of our gardens here.

Our sweet boy Archie (our male kitty) likes to hang out & watch me as I make my rounds.  Above he is sitting on the patio as I'm taking a photo through the gardens.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
Shirley

The Peacock images are wonderful Shirley - love the colours too. I am pleased to hear that your knee is much better - I hope things continue to improve.
As for your gardens - WOW, they are magnificent. I just scrolled down to begin with, and assumed you had visited a stately home!!
Take care - hugs, Sylvia xx

I like peacocks too! I have a stamp from IO that is a butterfly made out of peacock feathers. Stampin' Up has one that I want too. Your gardens are lovely, so lush and green. Like much of the U.S. we are suffering from a drought. Glad your knee is better!

Wow, Shirley, du hast einen herrlichen Garten.
Einfach nur dasitzen und träumen...wunderschön.
Aber ich weiß auch, dass ein Garten ganz viel Arbeit macht, wenn er so aussieht. So schöööön...

Und deine Karte ist dir auch wieder sehr schön gelungen.

Ganz liebe Grüße und viel Freude im Garten

A gorgeous card Shirley, I'm sure your friend loved it. I especially like the way the background is more subtle, it makes the peacock stand out more.

Your garden is amazing, and so big. It's a good job you like gardening, I think I'm gardening when I go out and sit in mine, and look at the plants (I won't call them flowers, because I think some may be weeds).
I'm glad your knee is healing so nicely and you are getting to do all the things you normally do.
