Fly Away with Impression Obsession

Hello crafty people !    I hope your week is going well.   We broke a record for the hottest day on Tuesday, it was 37 Celsius & with the Humidex factor it felt like 45.  TOO hot for me.    Meanwhile Bloggers overseas in the UK & Europe are talking about the cool & wet season they are having.  I so wish we could trade some heat & sun for a little rain.  Just even it up a little and make it more pleasant for all of us :)

Today I'm participating in Impression Obsession's 'Fly Away' Challenge.    I dug out a stamp yesterday, that hasn't seen ink for a long time which has a butterfly in the middle of the image.  Another one by Leigh Hannon, it's a fun image to colour, lots of detail.

Impression Obsession Stamps:  F2267 Butterfly Round & CC018 Cover A Card Greenery
Spellbinder Dies: S4-114, S4-124

I coloured the image with Prisma Pencils & distressed around the edge with Broken China Distress Ink.   I added rhinestone & diamond stickles.   The scallop die cut and dark mat are both purple not black as it looks on the photo.

I stamped CAC Greenery, using my IO Mega Mount on the Peacock blue card stock with Whisper Grey Colorbox Pigment Ink & embossed with Clear which gave it a rich texture.   I have a lot of CAC stamps, I love them all, but tend to use this one a lot !   The folded cardstock is quite shiny.

Well that's all for today.    One of my sisters who lives in Hong Kong, is arriving this afternoon and staying for a week.  We plan to have fun & will probably relax with an occasional Martini or glass of wine :)    I won't have the chance to craft or blog.

Thanks for your visit.  I'll be back here in a week :)
Shirley

Shirley - this card is lovely - not just the pretty main image, but that background!! I love the soft look of it. I have a bunch of the CAC stamps and love them all - I have the vines which looks similiar to the greenery one you used here. I'll have to do the embossing like you did because it came out so gorgeous.

A beautiful card Shirley, in gorgeous colours. I love the background, it looks so good embossed in clear. I bought an IO background stamp last weekend, I'm not sure but it could be this one.

Our weather here, although still overcast and damp, looks set to change this weekend. I just hope it last longer than the weekend, the garden really need some work doing on it. Have a great time with you sister.

That is such a fitting, beautiful card for you and your love of gardening. You must be watering so much to fill in for Mother Nature and I imagine it's a frustrating (hot) and ongoing challenge. All my family in the Midwest are lamenting about their gardens dying out and the brown grass.

I'll hope for better weather for you next week for your sister's visit. Have a blast and I'll raise a martini toast from afar!!

Hi Shirley!
Wow what a very pretty card again! It is really nice, with those terrific colours! Beautiful background for sure, and I just love that unique image/stamp too! It does indeed look like great fun to colour it in (I love stamp images that require lots of fun colouring! :))
Warm greetings (also to your Hong Kong sis :) - have fun!)

Hi Shirley!
I too would trade some of this heat and sunshine for some rain. I live in Ontario too. Your garden looks lovely and I'm sure you are spending a lot of your time watering. I adore your card - the background is fabulous. I also love the cool colours - perhaps a pleasant little break from our heat!

How very pretty this is Shirley! It's funny -- sometimes I see a stamp and forget it's IO -- this one might need to join my collection after seeing your colorful and fun creation!
