CAS Sympathy Cards

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

We are still enjoying mild weather and sunny days, it's fantastic for this time of year.   I worked in the gardens yesterday morning, it felt wonderful.

I created a few CAS style sympathy cards that unfortunately we needed recently.

I used solid shape stamps by Impression Obsession.  I inked them up, spritzed water or used a stencil to create a pattern and then over stamped with flowers by Chocolate Baroque.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Whimsical Mermaids

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.   We have been enjoying unseasonable warm temperatures, the foot of snow is rapidly melting.

I recently completed two different on line classes with Tamara Laporte of Willing Arts, both featuring whimsical (or stylised) Mermaids.   These are mixed media pages that I've drawn and used collage and different mediums to paint.

A friend pointed out that the heads are large for the bodies.... yes I know that, it's intentional.   I understand that this kind of art isn't for everyone, but it sure is a lot of fun to create.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Collage Background and Flowers

Hello everyone I hope you are doing well.

We've received a foot of snow here over the past week, it looks lovely but it wasn't good to drive a couple of days.   However it's going to melt with unusually high temperatures this weekend :)    Sunny warm days are very much appreciated in February.

I would like to thank my blog friends that left comments with their thoughts about the difference between Blogging and Facebook.  You've made some very good points and I appreciate it very much.  I think overall the consensus is that blogs are more personal.   I still can't see having as much time for blogging but will continue, thanks again :)

I have a couple of cards to show today that I created from the same piece of background to which I added die cuts by Tim Holtz (tattered flowers) and Creative Expressions (the leaves).   I started with collage using tissue, dictionary paper and some Washi tape.  I coloured over with Gesso, dried and then coloured with Neocolour II crayons and then spritzed with water.  After drying I used a wood stamp and white acrylic paint and added some glitter here & there.

I have not purchased the Tim Holtz crayons as I love my Neocolour II and don't feel the need to have two different types.  I have so many mediums to play with already.   On that note, I'm also not going to buy the new Oxide Distress inks, I think having the complete line of Distress Inks and re-inkers is enough along with everything else.

Well that's all my rambling, here are my cards :)

Thanks for your visit and have a great day!

Something Different - An Abstract

Happy Weekend everyone, I hope all is well.

I've already shared this on Facebook which is so much easier, quicker to post and comment.    Blogging takes so much time, I sometimes think about quitting, but then maybe some of you are not on Facebook.    I apologize if I haven't been around to your blogs but life has been busy.

I'm still enjoying Life book 2017 lessons and recently completed a lesson by Wendy Brightbill on painting abstracts.  The idea was to paint your intention for 2017, but I just was simply 'going with the flow' without direction or any kind of thoughts on a watercolour journal page.   It was similar to working on backgrounds for cards but with more time spent and extra detail.

Thanks for your visit and have a great day,
