First Play with Brushos !

Hello everyone,

I was quite happy to find a set of  Brushos recently and bought them as a Christmas gift to myself.  These crystal inks are produced in the UK, not stocked anywhere in Canada (that I could find) and sell out quickly overseas.   They create the most wonderful vivid colours using such a tiny little amount of the powders sprayed or mixed with water.   I love to use water based paints, inks & sprays so these are 'right up my alley'.

I used stamps by Designs by Ryn for both of these cards.  The sentiments are from Chocolate Baroque's Amazing Birthday set.

One of my talented teammates Eileen Godwin has produced four fantastic video tutorials featuring different techniques using Brushos.   I used her tutorial Brushos - Part One as a guide for the background above but I didn't use "goosebumps" as I don't have them, I've never seen them here.

I painted Day Lily and Rising Bubbles using the paints on my craft mat with a little water and also directly on the flower.

A different technique was used for the background below:

A fun technique using Glimmer Mists, Brushos and plastic wrap which Eileen shows at her tutorial Brushos - Part Two was used for the background above.     I also painted Raindrop set and Flying Hummingbird 2 with the Brushos.

Thanks for your visit and have a great day,
Shirleyx

Love your gorgeous cards Shirley, I have Bister which I think is similar and love it too. What you did here looks super, and thanks for the link to the video! Can't wait to see what you do with those powders next!

Oh yes Shirley, I just knew you would do wonders with Brushos, two real beauties. And the clingfilm technique shows up so well on the second, I had trouble getting it to photograph.

oh my, Shirley! The water droplets look so rich and dimensional! When I see water like that, I automatically think of life, and how much is actually moving inside those gardeny droplets! Your hummer and daylily are outstanding, and the colors really touch my soul. Thank you for showing how to use the watercolors and sprays with the plastic wrap. SO HAPPY you indulged in the Brushos! hugs, de

Wow! These Brushos are so wonderfully vibrant Shirley and I love them both and definitely couldn't pick a favourite. You always use watercolour so beautifully and the added technique with the cling film just makes the background so pretty, and both perfectly complement the gorgeous stamps. x

Oh yes, Brushos are great, so intense. You've got such interesting backgrounds using them and of course together with your brilliantly painted images they make such lovely cards.
I really love the orange lily on the purple.

Absolutely stunning as always. Your brusho turned out beautifully. I wonder if it is the same product that I Brake for Stamps sells. http://ibrakeforstamps.com/bister.aspx You are tempting me to try this product.

Oh, wonderful, now I have another fabulous resource (well, two, counting Eileen) for when I make my maiden voyage into the crystal world of Brushos. I was able to buy a set in November, but then came Thanksgiving and then Christmas and now my NBUS Challenge, so February is looking good! I have a whole folder started with emails, comments, and websites to help me and what you've done here is certainly going in my folder, Shirley!

These are simply gorgeous like every other art medium you tackle! And those water droplets! I'm trying to study prezackly how you did those droplets because you have achieved an unbelievable real life quality to them in terms of color and dimension. I know Ryn's stamps are fantastic, but you've made them come to life!

Keep 'em coming and enjoy playing!! Hugs, Darnell
