"Zendoodles"

Hello everyone & Happy Weekend !

I have something different to show today :)   I've been learning Zentangle this summer as I've been admiring beautiful artwork on Pinterest and Blogs and have been wanting to give it a try.    I've been a 'doodler' forever and Zentangle is a wonderful extension.    I still need to practice and learn more, I can't remember the names of the patterns, but I love it.

I think this Journal Page is a combination of both Doodles & Zentangle.  Below is the cropped version which I like better, the lady seems more mysterious.

I used a Acrylic paints & Neocolour II crayons to paint the face and Inktense pencils (love them!) to colour the tangles.

Below is the full page.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Shirley

This is fantabulous, beautifully drawn and painted. I especially like her necklace, her blue earrings and the pink leaves in her hair, but it's all good.

Hey Shirley, wow! Your Zentangling is looking really good!!! Some of those patterns look really complex... Neat way of cropping the image too. Adds interest and mystery not being able to see the whole face. Beautiful!!!

This is rather special - I agree about the mysteriousness of your cropped version for it looks as if your lady has just caught sight of that dragonfly. Your use of colours really makes this 'pop' & I love the way you used the tangles for her hair. Her necklace is a joy.

PS - Just sat looking at your full version too & there's the same glint in her eyes with that one right hand dragonfly - as if there's some unspoken communication.

Beautiful work Shirley!!!! You really learned a lot with these lessons. The patterns you used look great and difficult to me! I love to doodle, but Zentangle is quite a different story and I am surely not good in that. I just play around :-)) Your colouring of this work is also beautiful. If it's okay with you, I'm going to put your work on my Pinterestboard Zentangles and other.

Wow! This is fabulous, and looks very labor intensive. All I've done is buy a basic book! You did a fantastic job on your doodling...so pretty with all the colors. Love the Inktense pencils. Just learning Tombow has a new pencil, Irotjean (?sp?) which I've been seeing on the net. TFS
