My Heart is at Home

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.  We are enjoying cooler weather, with some nice sunshine, wonderful!   I'm behind visiting blogs, I hope to catch up soon.

I like the theme for the June challenge at Art Journal Journey which is "Home", and created this page in my journal to join in.    I love to be at home either inside doing something creative or outside surrounded by our gardens and trees.    This is a 'doodle drawing' with no stamps and is meant to be whimsical.

I started by drawing the outlines with a black pigment pen.   I added colour by spraying Dylusions Inks.  I used a little dish to draw the circle for the sun and covered it when spraying.  I removed the dish, sprayed the circle yellow and somehow the colour stayed inside.   I used stencils with Distress Inks for the trees, 'grass', roof, bricks and sun.    I doodled a little more with black Pigment, white Gelly Roll & Sharpie pens.   I painted the house, flowers, cat & heart with Distress Inks on my craft mat with water & a brush.

Stencils:  TCW (mini) Circle Explosion, Fleur DeLis, Cubist
                Panduro (Bricks)
                Huey's Masks - Circle Graph

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

From this gorgeous journal page, I can imagine that your garden must be an explosion of colour in the summer when all the flowers are in bloom. I love the different textures you've got going on as well.

This is just the sort of picture I like, happy drawings, bright colours that go together so well, and with a cat and flowers what could be better.

Delightful & whimsical indeed it is! Love how you added the textures to your cute drawings. I'm loving these sprays, trying to improve 'my hand' at using them. (Yippee, got my water droplets stamps, gotta get going with them). This is so pretty, and certainly fit the theme for your challenge. TFS such a wonderful art piece. Hugs

Shirley, this is SO HAPPY! I love it - and I feel that in your dear soul, as well as in my own. That fabulous magenta sky is so real, isn't it? Can't you just see a sky that color? Ohhhh, I can - and I wonder how it manages to stay blue LOL Wonderful how the red heart is in the middle of the house, as though the house simply cannot stand on its own - it must have the heart on which to find its foundation. Lovely colors and a beautiful scene - LOVE THIS, SHIRLEY! hugs, de
