Red Tailed Comet Hummingbird

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have another Hummingbird design using Designs by Ryn's gorgeous new Hummingbird 2 unmounted set.  This one is a Red-tailed Comet Hummer but as you can see his tail is not red :)

The background is a little busy but I had fun playing around.  I started with Distress Inks on an acrylic block spritzed with water.  Using the same inks, I over stamped with a flower from the Hibiscus unmounted set.  I added some circles and stenciling using white acrylic paint.   I also added some chunky gold enamel by heating underneath.

It's hard to see but I used a couple of stamps at the top and bottom from Chocolate Baroque's Wisteria Lane set using the purple Tom Bow marker direct to the stamp.

I coloured the bird with Tom bow markers.  The die cut flowers are by Crealies - Set of 3 - Flower no. 3 also coloured with the same purple Tom Bow marker (by rubbing on craft mat and spritzing water and dragging the flowers through).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week,
Shirley

I don't think the background looks busy at all Shirely, in fact the hummingbirds sits beautifully against it and you might guess I absolutely love your choice of colours.

I'm patiently waiting for mt Dylusions paints to arrive, Lesley was out of stock of most colours but said it won't be long, the looks so beautifully vibrant just like the sprays.

This is another gorgeous hummer Shirley and I love the background with the different stamps and media and the colours are beautiful. When I first looked I thought I recognised some CB stamps in there too. Wisteria Lane is one I keep thinking about getting. x

wow! a marvelous creation, Shirley - love your "starburst" flower made just for the beautiful hummer! The pops of dimensional purple flowers look beautiful with the hummer's feathers, too! We have noticed a decline in our hummingbird population here in the past 2 weeks - the weather is the same, but maybe their babies have grown and it is time to migrate further south? hugs, de
