Working with new Stencils in a pink room!

Hello blogging friends, I hope you are all doing well.     We are finally settled into our new home, happy to have most of the big projects done, it was a busy summer and suddenly Fall has arrived.   We are still working on our new gardens but I finally found time for crafting, which sure feels good :)

I was frustrated one day while still waiting for my 'craft studio' to be painted and decided it could stay pink for a while.  I'm not a 'pink girl' and it's the only room in the house that needs re-painting.    My husband has been working hard and ran out of time so I unpacked all my boxes, put away the drawers, a new desk was assembled and I'm able to 'play' again!

Ryn from Design by Ryn sent me her fabulous new stencils prior to our move, two were still waiting for me to 'work' with them.    What I came up with seems very familiar, either I've created similar designs or I've been influenced by my talented DT teammates.   I did have fun and as you can see I've used my 'go to' or 'fav' colour combos !

I used Dylusions inks, gold Glimmermist and Gesso on both Designs.

Design by Ryn stamps above:  Sea Bubbles Set and Candra (the Moth)
Design by Ryn stencils above:  Flowing Branches (faint) and Maidenhair Fern (with Gesso)

Design by Ryn stamps above:  Striped Reed Set.  The words are from a freebie from the Craftstamper magazine.
Design by Ryn stencils above:  Flowing Branches (with Gesso), Floral Spirals, Maidenhair Fern

It was great to have a creative 'interlude' but I'm back working on gardens and getting ready for a family visit from overseas, so my blogging time is still limited for a while.

Thanks for visiting and have a great week,
Shirleyx

Happy to hear you are settling in well Shirley! I hope the pink is all painted for you soon.
It is amazing how we crafters miss stamps and inks when RL gets in the way.
As always two beautiful creations - I love the colours you have used and the stencils are lush! Hope you get some time for you soon Karen x

Glad you are back Shirley even if briefly, and that your new home is getting sorted out, and even with a pink craft room your creativity shines through as normal. I love this colour combo and Ryn's stamps and stencils work together beautifully. x

Great to see you again Shirley. You must feel very relieved now that the worst of the move is over, and there are worse things than pink rooms! Love what you have made, Ryn's stamps are all gorgeous, and I love those cool colours. Wish you lots of joy and happiness in your new home, hugs, Valerie

Wow! You are back with a lovely theme - the day before Autumn is ushered in! Your masterpieces look more like Florida than Canada! While I am in love with your moth card and it's background and intricacies, it is your 2nd card which has really touched my soul - the way that the white trees climb upward, and that the leaves abound in a mystical manner. The light beneath and through the leaves is especially mesmerizing.

Herzlichst Sophie

Hey Shirley, these pieces feel like you to me. You definitely have your own style that shines through in whatever you create. Might be easier to see from the outside :) Anyways, I love both of them. The colour combinations feel like your favourite colours with an Autumn twist (the yellow). Thanks so much!!!

Two beautiful cards Shirley, so lovely to see these familier colours pop up on your blog again after your break. I'm glad that you seem to have settled into your new home and I'm sure, and even if the room is pink, that getting you crafty stash out and playing with it again has helped. Hope you get the garden sorted before your visitors arrive.

You may not prefer pink, but I'm told it's very creative & soothing in its atmospheric auras. Sure looks like it was with this beauty. Gotta check out Ryn's stencils. Really love what you did with this one. Glad you are back in the crafting world once again. My admiration for getting your craft space organized so quickly. Hugs & TFS
