Snowy Christmas in July

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well and ready to see more Christmas designs during the hot months of summer :)   At least it's warm here in Ontario which feels great after our long cold and snowy winter.

First I have another design using Chocolate Baroque's new Harlequin Fragment stamp set.    I like to get started on Christmas cards early and as soon as I saw the Harlequin fragments I thought they were a great match for Harlequin Christmas.

The background was created by blending Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks. I stamped the fragment with Festive Berries DI.  I stamped the bubble edge from Decorative Edges with Seedless Preserves DI and coloured them with a white gel pen.

The Harlequin ornament and sentiment from Warm Christmas Greetings were stamped with Cobalt Archival ink.  I coloured the ornament with Dylusions inks and cut it out to attach over the background.

Chocolate Baroque has also launched two new Christmas set this month, Snowy Scenes and Turtle Doves.  Both A5 sets are full of beautiful smaller designs to have fun creating Christmas cards with.

I have two cards to show you using stamps from the new Snowy Scenes set.

The background above was created a while ago and sitting in my stash.  It looks like I used Turquoise Dylusions inks (possibly a 'mop up' sheet) which I stamped with Big Bold Background Snowflake Shadow and coloured the snowflakes a little with a Tombow marker.   I stamped the scene with Colbalt Archival ink, coloured with Prisma pencils and die cut with an ornament.   I was inspired by a design former DT member Elaine created a year & half ago using the same die.  As soon as I saw the little scenes in the set, it came to my mind to use my die (by Impression Obsession) for the first time.   Let it Snow is a clear stamp available on it's own or part of the Big Bold Christmas Words clear set.  The corner flourish is by Memory Box.

I want to make it clear that while this card says "Let it Snow" I'm not ready to see snow for a long time!

I have one more card using the same little snowy scene image:

The background for the card above is with Lime and Green Dylusions inks.   I over stamped a little snowflake from the Snowy Scenes set and used TCW Star fall stencil with Distress Ink and TCW Circle Explosion stencil with Viva  Mother of Pearl light blue molding cream which has a silver hue.   I coloured the main image with Prisma pencils and added lots of glitter to the snow.

Here is a look at the two new stamp set that are available individually or as a multi-buy special.

Thanks for your visit and have a great day!
Shirley

Three gorgeous cards Shirley and I love them all. I love the contrast between the red and the dark bauble and the white bubbles of the decorative edge stamp, and the pretty scene in the bauble is so pretty, and then the ornately framed scene in the last card. Your backgrounds are always beautifully matched and full of interest. x

Hi, Shirley - these are beyond amazing. My first thought was "wow! these colors are incredible!". My second thought was, "These Christmas cards look so professional! I expect to see someone request to product them! LOL" - then I thought, "Shirley, how do you come up with the ideas?" Incredible, Beautiful, Remarkable, Amazing - none of these words adequately describe what your artwork has filled my heart with today. Thank you for posting these! hugs, de

Three really beautiful cards. I've had a difficult time choosing my favourite but in the end I decided to go with the last one. I'm a sucker for a scene on a Christmas card - and the unusual choice of colour for the card makes it really stand out. Love it.

Great Post! ~ Cobs.

One card is lovelier than the next dear Shirley!
The bubbles in the red card are such a great design element.
Your second card has my favorite colors and the scene you placed in the ornament really invites me in!
The cottages in the snow look equally fine in your last card!

How organised to start your Christmas cards in July, what a pleasant occupation and how lucky the recipients will be.
These three are so good I could be here all day commenting on each!
I really like the way you have the landscape inside the bauble, very clever, I love your use of greens, especially the lime green and your colouring and painting skills, as ever, are superb.
