Just a Note

Hello everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.

I have two more designs today using Chocolate Baroque's beautiful Harebell Butterfly and Briar Rose Butterfly sets.

I created the background by blending Distress Inks and then flicking a little water over top.   The image from Harebell Butterfly was stamped with Coffee Archival Ink and coloured with Prisma pencils.  I stamped it a second time and decoupaged the butterfly, added stickles and pop it up.  I also outlined the sun with a white pen.    The die cut frame is Spellbinder S5-090 Romantic Rectangles.

The above CAS style card was created by using a circle cut into cardstock and sponging Distress Inks over top.  I stamped with a fragment from Texture Fragments.   After removing the 'mask' I stamped the image from Briar Rose Butterfly with Cobalt Archival ink and coloured with Prisma Pencils.  The sentiment is from Mackintosh Sentiments.

Thanks for your visit and have a great day,
Shirley

Oh, Shirley...

Two really beautiful cards Shirley. I love that S/B die cut framing the harebells so prettily, and that 3D butterfly, whilst the second CAS card is so elegant, and the briar rose image in that deep pink contrasts perfectly with that gorgeous peacock blue. I must get those texture fragments as they are perfect for any background. Hope you had a good weekend. x

I'm catching up again, Shirley! We all seem to be chasing our tails a lot in the spring and summer when there is so much outdoor stuff calling out for attention - or just relaxation. (Ever heard of that? lol!) All your designs are superb and the backgrounds are eye-popping, but on these last cards, it's your butterflies that have stolen the show! They are exquisite!! Hope you take care! Hugs, Darnell

Hi Shirley ! I bet your gardens are looking gorgeous now. Our backyard looks like a rain forest on steroids.
My computer is throwing tantrums, and only randomly letting me leave comments, first Chrome stopped working, then my blogger reading list, and now the comment thing. AARRGG!!
I'm still looking and loving all your artistic creations, and these two are so beautiful. I love how the dark frame on the first one really makes it pop, and I love all your cards that you do with the circle. They are some of my all time favourites!

Hi, Shirley! These are right from your garden, correct? You've pressed these beauties for keepsakes LOL - seriously, magnificent colors and designs. I never think to do masking and ink backgrounds. They always look fabulous - and yours always inspire me, and then I lapse into the comfortable zone of doing nothing colorful again. I'll strive to make that change in coming months.
hugs,
