Sunflowers with Colourful Inks

Hello everyone, I have two colourful Sunflower designs to show you today using beautiful Chapel Road stamps, a line available from Class Act Inc.    These flowers make me think of summer, I can't wait.  Actually I would be happy with Spring flowers :)

Stamps by Chapel Road - Large Sunflower Set and the background is Flower Words

To create the large background I used Vibrant Turquoise, Midnight and White Linen Dylusions Inks.   I stamped the Flower Words with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.

I used glossy paper and Sailboat Blue, Purple Twilight & Citrus Adirondack Alcohol inks to create the background behind the sunflower.   The Sunflower was stamped with Black Archival ink.  I added colour to the flower with Tom Marker #062.    I cut the main image out and attached to the larger background over ribbon.   The sentiment and whimsical border are also from the Large Sunflower Set.

And below is a 2nd card created using Sunflower Set.

The background was created with Cut Grass, Fresh Lime and Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions Inks.  I sprayed over top with Gold Glimmermist and blotted with a paper towel which created the water marks.    I stamped the whimsical border with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

The Sunflower was embossed with black and coloured with Tombow Markers #55, 158 & 993.  I cut around the image and popped over the background.

Thanks for your visit and have a fabulous day,
Shirley

On both cards the colours look lovely Shirley...but my first choice would be the green and yellow card (oldfashioned choice :-)). The stamps are great!

These are both delightful and so different, but using the same flower stamp. I like the little circular stamp you are using for the border.
I keep meaning to say how much I like your new header, and hope that your garden looks more like that soon.

That is a fabulous stamp, but the way you used it made it even more special. The alcohol inked b'ground behind the first sunflower really grabbed my attention. The colours are so soft and pretty, and look amazing against the deeper, richer b'ground of the card. I love those colours!! The second card has a wonderful summer feel to it. These are both lovely!!

Shirley, you really must quit introducing me to these new stamp companies! Love both these cards - of course I do! The backgrounds are fab, as ever. But I really love that sunflower image and your tombow coloring is marvelous. Both these cards say "summer" with that wonderful sunflower taking center stage. Loved that tiny border stamping too. TFS & Hugs

If green or blue, your cards look both very good with the lovely sunflower. Very good backgrounds.

Love them both, Shirley! Neat to see how the same image can be used to make a totally different looking card. Your alcohol ink background is wonderful--something I don't seem to be able to do.

Hey Shirley, I just thought I'd stop by and see what you've been up to. I am dreaming of Spring too. It certainly doesn't look like it in Ontario today. Oh well, soon enough. These sunflower cards are gorgeous. I especially love the colours in the first and the background texture that you made with alcohol inks. Thanks for this little bit of sunshine today :)

Poor Archie, hope he feel better soon. Bet his little mess was fun to clean up. :) Our other cat (no longer with us) did that and then jumped on the bed, she did it for about a week! Sending hugs to Archie and Sheena. Skipper and Mummy

These are two absolutely gorgeous cards Shirley. I love them both but I guess if I had to choose one it would be the green background because it is so Spring-like. The Chapel Road Sunflower stamp is so stylish, I must look out for those on my travels. I love the Flower Words stamped in the background on the blue card, and that whimsical border on both cards is so pretty. x
