Magical Spring Fairy

Hello Everyone, I hope you are doing well.    I'm dreaming of Spring......but we still have 2 to 4  feet of snow on the ground and it hasn't been mild enough to melt much of it.

Chocolate Baroque also launched their beautiful Spring Fairy Collection this month.    I have two cards using these stamps today, the first features one of the beautiful fairies.

The background was created with London Blue, Cut Grass and White Linen Dylusions inks.   To create the water marks, I sprinkled sea salt while it was still wet and when dry, brushed it off.    I stamped the fairy from March Fairy & beautiful sentiment from Fairyland Words with Deep Purple Archival ink (it looks blue in the photo).   I stamped the Winter Aconites from Spring is in the Air with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.   I coloured the images with my Prisma pencils.    I added glitter to the fairy wings and some tiny pearl flowers that I found in my stash.

I also have a CAS design that was quick to create.

I cut a circle in card stock and used the negative for a mask.  I blended Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink inside the circle.  I stamped 'Spring' and the pretty little Robin and branch with Cobalt Archival Ink and coloured it with my Prisma pencils.  I also added some glitter to the foliage and bird.

Here is a look at the Spring Fairy Collection, available individually or as a multi-buy.

Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend,
Shirley

These two cards look wonderful. Love the look of your first card. Especially the little part of yellow on the left side. This makes it look so wonderful together. Love the background too. Greetings Anneke

What a stunning card Shirley. I love these fairies they look very grown up compared to some that are about. The colours you've used look amazing together, a definite feel of Spring.
Hope your snow starts to melt soon.

I love both these cards Shirley, and although fairies aren't really my thing they are extremely pretty. The colours you have used are gorgeous, and the sprinkled salt leaves a lovely pattern. I like the bird in the cut out and inked shape and the way the image and sentiment overlap the shape, so elegant. Have a lovely weekend and hope your snow soon starts to melt. x

I do hope you have some raised temperatures soon. Your first card is a lovely magical scene - almost as if it is underwater but then it could be in a fantasy land - I love those tiny little floral embellishments & the way they highlight the colouring of her wings. Don't the bottom salt marks look like faded aconites?
The second is a gorgeous example of CAS - the way the background glows behind the bird & your positioning of the sentiment to lead the eye into the image. The stamping extending outside the circular panel adds such lovely interest too.

Beautiful creation, Shirley - I LOVE the images chosen in your top card - I feel as thought it is midnight, and I'm a little girl delighting in my view, as I hide, and watch the fairies do their magic. GLORIOUS background and wonderful the way the flowers are at her feet. Your birdie is sweet, too! A bright cheery card!

I'm sorry that winter is being mean to you still. It's not fair at all. Winter has been unrelenting and cruel for everyone in the northeast for sure, and the north midwest - it must be so difficult going this long blanketed in cold temperatures.

Shirley, your bright yellow blog certainly is cheerful! are your daffodils from your garden in Spring times gone by? They do not grow here, and they are one of my favorite flowers. Such a cool shape! My petunias are cascading beautifully, and the snap dragons are beautiful! Even the geraniums are either blooming, or COVERED with buds.

Heart to Heart, Shirley - I'm sending you Florida Sunshine and lots of warm hugs, xo

Two amazing cards. I adore your background and the composition on the first card. The second is simply striking. Thank you, we are hoping these drops will work, not going to be an easy two week. :)

STUNNING!!! Totally love these cards Shirley, wow! They look like fantastic stamps, but what makes these cards is what you have done with them! The background in the first one is so beautiful and I love how you have coloured the images. Love the second one too, the placement of the stamps is perfection!

I really like your fairy card with all the complex stamping and colouring, it's very beautiful, but the card that captures my heart is the second one with the bird, it's delightful.

Each card is such a tiny masterpiece! Love these CB stamps, and you showcase this set so magically. Love the colors you chose and the tiny flowers - even the detail of adding to her hair. Just magic. The CAS one grabbed my eye. That is simply stunning, and fairly glowed with the way you laid down the background color. Such a beautifully simple stamp image, but you rev'd it up the way you colored this little bird. Love 'em! TFS & hope the snow will soon be a memory. Hugs

I love the otherworldly b'ground you created for the sweet fairy. It has a dreamy look to it, and those flowers are beautiful. The second card is fabulous!! Now I'm depressed, as I tried something like that for a challenge I'm entering, and mine just doesn't look that good! CAS cards are HARD, and I'm jealous that you made it look so easy.
I'll trade you some of our mud for your snow. I was doing agility performances with my dog club all weekend, and our dogs were getting filthy with muck as we left our cars to get into the building. When we perform for the public, we prefer to have clean dogs! My mostly white dog looked like she was wearing brown stockings! You can have Mud Season ! I'll skip it and go straight to Bug Season!

Did I tell you that I believe in faeries? I know they live in the woods that surround my house and in the summer their little wings twinkle as they flit here and there. You always use the prettiest colors - beautifully made!
Sorry about all your snow but keep the faith - spring always comes again.
