Magical Landscape

Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well.  We got hit with another winter snow storm and will have to dig ourselves out again today.   I have daffodils from our garden on my blog header but it seems like it will be a long time before they actually bloom again.

I have another castle design to show today using Chocolate Baroque's beautiful new Magical Landscape set.

I created the background with watercolour paints (an inexpensive set) wet on wet.   I have a tutorial at this post using this technique if you are interested.   I sprinkled a little salt over the paint while it was wet which created small watermarks.

I stamped the images with Cobalt Archival ink.   The fairy from May Fairy was stamped on separate paper and decoupaged.   I coloured the castle with Prisma pencils as well as the fairy's dress and wings.  I added lots of glitter on the moon and water, but it's hard to see in the photo. The sentiment is from Fairyland Words.

Thanks for your visit and have a great day,
Shirley

Magical is right! And a great combination of art mediums, Shirley. Is this what you meant when you said you thought you might have found your new house? (smile) - I did not want to jinx your hopeful statement, but only something this architecturally stimulating would be right for the two of you (LOL) - beautiful colors, Shirley! I especially like the sunshiny feel in your card AND on your blog! Very pretty! hugs, de

This is indeed a truly magical card Shirley. The background is just perfect, and the pretty turreted castle sits on it just perfectly. Love the colours you have used and those Prisma pencils keep their colour beautifully even over a coloured background. Love the bit of colour you have added to the silhouetted fairy. x

Your snowstorm was just rain when it got to us, I'd prefer the snow!
It looks like you are having a wonderful time with the Magical Landscape set, maybe mentally transporting yourself to someplace less snowy?
I love how you use the landscapes with the fairies, so dreamy!

Wow such a stunning card Shirley it has a very magical feel to it. I love the colors you've used and the wonderful background too. I can't believe you're still getting snow, I am glad to say that here it is at long last beginning to dry up. It might seem a long time coming to you this year, but when spring does reach you, just think how much you will appreciate it.

The castle looks like it's floating in a magical cloudscape & I log the multicoloured sky you created. The hints of colour on the fairy's wings add lovely dimension & I particularly like the way the colour for those echoes the castle turrets - as if she belongs inside the castle for it's her home. I love the way your fairy is standing on the matting layer for the watercolour scene.
Hope you managed to get yourself dug out OK.
Take care

I'm normally not a fairy person, LOLOL, that sounds funny! But your card is wonderful. The palace looks like it's floating in the clouds waiting for her to visit!! Very pretty right down to that really gorgeous BG!! Off to see you tutorial too!~

Oh my, I'll bet you folks are so very tired of snow! It must be so cheering to come to your blog and see these sunny daffodils, and think that one of these days, they'll be in your garden for real. As usual, another lovely watercolor from your artistic fingers. I'm really liking this new CB set. Have to agree with Shirley, don't think I own a single fairy, but I always love to see what magic you create with these sprites in your work. Great color for those onion domes on the castle, and like your silhouette with her shimmery wings. Thanks for providing the tutorial link. I'm off to read through it! TFS & Hugs. Happy wkend
