Country Home

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

Chocolate Baroque has just launched a wonderful new whimsical stamp set, Patchwork Landscape.   We've had so much creating designs with these stamps, my card below features the lovely cottage from the set.

The background was created with Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks using the Acrylic Block technique.     I stamped part of the flourish tree from Fantasy Woodland at the top and the flowers from Patchwork Landscape at the bottom.  The cottage was stamped with Olive Archival Ink and coloured with Prisma pencils.    I blended a little Distress Inks around the image.  Best Wishes is from Loving Sentiments.    I coloured the Crealie die cut flowers with Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks.

Dies:  Crealies Flowers CL CF 25 and Marianne Design Flourish LR0150

Thanks for your visit and have a great day!
Shirley

I love the way you've picked out the cottage roof with the aqua & how you stamped a part of a few of the hollyhock flowers along the image panel's perimeter as well as along the edge of the background. The yellow in the flowers echoes the pale green of your bushes in the little scene & I love the accenting of dark green. Doesn't this just make you think of Spring?

This is such a pretty card Shirley and in your trademark tones, but I love those colours too. The stamping in the background and the way you have allowed the stamping to creep on to the bottom of the topper which is an inspired touch, and you lined it all up beautifully. The irridescent ribbon and the flowers are great as finishing touches, and the image mat is lovely in the darker shade of green to match the foliage. x

I do like how you've used the stamps. They look a bit like the embroidery designs that were done on traycloths and table cloths. I also like the way you put the house into the circle.
