Art Journal Journey - Silence

Hello everyone,

I have an Art Journal page today for this months' Art Journal Journey challenge - Silence.     I enjoy silence very much, I don't like a lot of noise for extended periods.    I like silence in the garden, when I'm sleeping, reading, creating and when sitting by the water enjoying the view.     My Journal page is a underwater scene where I imagine it's very silent.

The background is Dylusions inks (London Blue, Vibrant Turquoise, Calypso Teal & Linen).

I added pattern with TCW Stencils:  Circle Explosion & Coral with Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks

Design by Ryn stamps:
Sea Bubbles - stamped in white pigment ink, highlighted with Gelly Roll pens
Rising Bubbles - stamped with Colbalt Archival Ink, painted and highlighted
Seaweed Set - open design, stamped with Colbalt Ink and highlighted with a white Gelly Roll pen
Kelp - stamped with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink
School of Fish - stamped with Colbalt Ink
Wanda (the Angel fish) & Seahorse Set - coloured with Tombow markers & decoupaged

Voice of the Sea is by Impression Obsession ( C5053)

If you would like a chance to win my blog candy, please leave a comment at this post here.  I'll make the draw on January 17, 2014.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

I adore this underwater scene. The stencils add depth to the background and I particularly like the sea bubbles in that soft white which stands out against the darker blue.
I love the way you have coloured the Seahorses and the Angel Fish and decoupaged them. This has a real Wow factor. x

Very beautiful and I like it quiet too! Love those bubbles and the patterns in the background too. Because of YOU I bought some stencils to see what I could do. You the queen of lovely and beautiful backgrounds!!

See what I mean, more of your beautiful stencil backgrounds. While I look at this I am going into my workspace and getting out the stencils so I don't forget them.

I really like what you did with the fan colors and your central image is gorgeous!

What a beautiful page Shirley. Wonderful colours and such an impression of serenity. This sounds really bad, lol, but I think silence is the thing I miss most since my OH retired last April. He doesn't seem able to just sit in the quiet and always has to have the TV on. The minute he's out the door to take the dog for a walk I switch the TV off and revel in the peace for half an hour, lol!

I love your cards, Shirley, but I also enjoy it when you show us your Art journal. Yes, it would be silent under the sea, and this is a fabulous page with the sea-horses and the very thoughtful looking fish and all the sea-weedy patterns.

Oh, I sure like silence a lot too. Television gets on my nerves mostly, and my family all seem to not be able to get by without it. LOL

Love how realistic those water bubbles are on your art journal page, Shirley. This looks very serene.
