Hello everyone I hope you are doing well.
It's been a long time since I've posted at my blog. Life has not been 'normal' these days and blogging takes energy and time that I have not had.
We moved a couple of weeks ago into a very small temporary furnished home while we wait for a new home to be built. We are fortunate to be able to look after the most wonderful cottage style gardens while we are here.
Most of our belongings are in storage and I could only bring minimal art supplies. I'm looking forward to having a craft room with all my stash again this Fall :)
I brought along my box of water colour markers (Tombows), pencils, black & white pens (some acrylic), my craft mat, a water barrel brush and a small art journal that can handle light washes. One of the earlier Lifebook 2017 lessons with Tamara Laporte focused on using minimal supplies. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and it helped me decide what I should take with me.
Yesterday was the first day that I actually found an afternoon free and was in the mood for art. I created this page fairly quick, I felt 'rusty' but now anxious to play some more :)
I'm sorry that I haven't been around to your blogs, I will get around to visit soon :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
Shirley

Gorgeous page, no one would guess your supplies are limited. Hope the wait for the new home goes smoothly, hug, Valerie
Absolutely beautiful, Shirley! Without reviewing them all, I'd say this is actually my favorite--totally draws me in! I love the tiny heart on her cheek & how the colors blend! Think my tombows are mostly dry, but you've shown me I should have been using them! Thinking of you & wishing you continued peace & patience during this transition. Hoping your family members are doing better. How wonderful to have beautiful gardens--something I know you especially love! Big hugs, Greta
So beautiful Shirley, I love her. I'm so glad that I'm not in your shoes at the moment, but at least you have wonderful gardens to look at while you wait and it should be worth it in the long run.

Hi Shirley, it sounds like you've really got your hands full at the moment but I'm really pleased that you found some time to create this beautiful piece of art. She's gorgeous and I love how you've coloured her in what I think of as your signature colours. I think it's also quite sweet what you've written on there too and it will be lovely for you to look back on when you're eventually settled in your new home. Take care of yourself and keep enjoying the garden. Crafty hugs, Sandra x
Lovely to see you again Shirley. It sounds like life has changed for you at the moment but you have just the right things with you to produce this wonderful piece of art. I was thinking how good it would be to not have so much to choose from and then I could do what I like best.
Take care
Love Chrissie xx
Hope you move in to your new home real soon. This creation is just wonderful. Will give Skipper a hug for you. Have a great day. Hugs Anesha
Oh wow Shirley, well done, what a stunning page, that face is amazing, love it!!! Well done you for doing this with your limited supplies! And of course all the best with your move! How wonderful you are building your own home!
This is gorgeous Shirley and the supplies you have served you well. I hope it won't be too long before you are into your new place. x
Done to perfection. I keep looking at the faces and amazed at how well you do. You must have some drawing experience, do you? Lovely hair colour. If only I were younger I would do my hair that colour. The little heart on her face is a cute addition.
Perfectly gorgeous. Love your gorgeous colouring too. Take care and enjoy what you can do.xx [aNNie]
So glad your back Shirley and I too can't wait for you to get your craft room up and running.
Such a pretty face so angelic looking, love it.

May your next transition into your new home be effortless, Shirley, and the start of some fabulous creative pieces. Lovely to see you here, and to view this wonderful page - she is a beauty to be sure!
Oh SO GORGEOUS! It's another self portrait! I love your new hair style, and the highlights and textures therein. Shirley, your "faces" journal always wows me in every way because it reveals your heart, your love of color and nature, your incredible inventiveness when it comes to transforming the "normal" into "fabuloso"!!! My favorite parts are reading your journaling AFTER gazing upon the masterpiece for several moments. The artwork reveals your words. love, de

And the girl looks so good! Soft and super with the hair like this! You really got a ling way fron your first start! Enjoy summer and dreaming of the new house! Hugs, Gerrina
Great to see you, Shirley! I can see that, even if you feel rusty, your talent has certainly NOT rusted! This page is fresh and pretty! I swear you could make stunning art with two crayons! I hope things don't go off schedule again with the new build! Huge Hugs, Darnell
She is a beautiful girl and she looks beautiful both inside and out.
