Purple and Blue Lady

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well and enjoying the festive season.

I'm taking another break from Christmas designs to show you a new stylized lady that I drew and painted.  I'm still having fun practicing techniques learned from Tamara Laporte's of Willowing Arts courses.

I used mixed media for this page, mainly acrylic paints, but also pens, pencils, neocolour crayons and I collaged tissue under her top.

I also used stencils in the background along with a wooden stamp and acrylic paint.  I love water based media, it's much different using acrylics, but they are great that you can paint over top when dry if you want.

The photo below shows how the newly fallen snow looked a couple of mornings ago, very beautiful.   We love snow and crisp sunny cold days but our winters are a bit long.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley x

That's a seriously heavy snow fall Shirley, or should I say it is to us here in the UK, probably to you just a flurry.

More lovely artwork, so much expression in the face again and oh to dare for hair like that.

Another beautifully painted lady Shirley and the colours are really pretty. I love the sweet little bird and the flowers too and the bits of interest in the background are perfect. The snow looks really pretty but I prefer to look at it rather than wade through it..lol. x

This is stunning Shirley and you have learnt so much already. The whole project has so much to enjoy.

Great to see the snow we don't really get any at all these days.

Love Chrissie xx

Your deck looks so beautiful with the fresh snow, Shirley! Our is white today, too, but unfortunately it's due to ice! Your painting is so beautiful--really love the look of your lady & the background is lovely!

❤️ that light in her eyes, and the serenity in her expression, Shirley. She is INCREDIBLE, and magically colored in famous Shirley colors! Brrr cold, Shirley! We were 84 today! Unusually warm! Hugs, de

Another fantastic drawing Shirley, I love the gorgeous colours you've used too. The snow looks beautiful, but I can imagine how cold it must be as well. Our temps here in the UK are still in the low teens some days, but on the whole they are above freezing, so still mild.

Hi Shirley. Your work is flawless. Wonderful job on the face, once again. Your background is very subtle and overall it's gorgeous. Two days ago we finally got our snow. A storm is supposed to come in on Friday night which sucks because I work Saturday and will have to drive through it. Ugh!

Stunning creation. Skipper is back from the hospital and doing well. They did not operate in the end so that's great news. Hope, hubby and Archie have a wonderful Christmas!
