Hello everyone and welcome to November. It's amazing how time flies and suddenly it's dark and chilly in the mornings.
I've seen several Christmas cards on blogs recently featuring beautiful Penny Black watercolour style stamped images. They inspired me to use a similar style Poinsettia stamp, also by Penny Black, to create these quick cards.
Penny Black Stamps: Winter Glow 2808L (Poinsettia) and 3900H
Christmas Flourish (Merry Christmas). I've had both of these stamps for
a long time, they've survived several 'craft stash downsizings'.
I coloured directly onto the stamp with Tom Bow markers, spritzed lightly with water and stamped on water colour paper. I also added stickles to the flower centers and heated a little silver Frantage power around the background (heated behind the card stock). The matting is dark blue and dark purple not black as they appear in the photos.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

Stunning Shirley, it's a Penny Black stamp I use over and again and the matching die as well, but have not tried it in this colourway, might now though.

That grabbed my attention and hauled me in! Can't even tell you how much I love these elegant, gorgeous cards! I love the colours you used. These are my favourite cards I've seen in ages.
I love your marvellous creations with the watercolor atmosphere.
Big hugs Anja
Wow! Shirley, das sind ja unglaublich feine und elegante Karten.
Die sehen sehr edel und kostbar aus.
Herzlichst Sophie
That PB poinsettia is a stunner Shirley, and I love the font of the sentiment too. The Tombow markers work beautifully to ink the stamps with, and you have cleverly spritzed with just enough water to keep the form but create movement. Gorgeous cards! x
I saw them on Facebook and they look amazing!
Stunning images and cards Shirley, love the colours and your design, Kate x
Shirley, what beautiful "watercolor" techniques on this gorgeous PB stamp! Love your colors! Even when you don't have magical backgrounds, your flowers are still magical! How do you do that? LOL LOVING the way you have used this image, and I wish to try it myself on some of my PB stamps! Thank you for today's inspiration, my Canadian friend! hugs, de
Beautiful cards, and what a good and fairly quick way to create a load of Christmas cards (as I do get comments if I send shop bought ones!)
These look like paintings, Shirley! I didn't know PB had so many poinsettias--this one is gorgeous! Mine is not so artsy, but think I'll try using markers anyway. You always inspire me! Hope you're having a great week. Hugs, Greta
Oh wow these are stunning Shirley, the stamp you've used is gorgeous (not seen this one before) and the colours as well.

Wonderful cards with the beautiful Shirley touch to them
Love Chrissie xx
These are my all time faves, fantastic! Hugs, Valerie
How stunning. They don't look quick, but I'm glad for you they are. Will you make more of these? If they are quick they are good for mass producing. They look like they were silk screened.
Wonderful cards Shirley, the colours are stunning ! Lovely idea, to put a little glitter in the background ! Thanks again for your comments on my blog ! Wish you all the best ! Enny
Your cards are beautiful with that fun technique you used Shirley.
Your color choices along with the stamps make for such pretty and original creations.
Happy November!
I can hardly wrap my mind around it...where has this year gone!

Beautiful, love the colours you have used. Greetings Janny X
Beautiful done, Shirley, with such a golden oldie.
Simply love all three of them ❤️❤️❤️.
These are so pretty Shirley, you still inspire me and I am slowly trying new techniques with stamps, inks etc, thanks.xxx
I love how these all look so different with the colour change - delightfully so. I can understand why the stamps have made it through the downsizings for a long while! Happy weekend, my friend, and thanks again for stopping by to visit!
Just saw your comment link at another blog, reminded me to stop over to see what you're up to! I'm loving this PB poinsettia, and you've used it so beautifully in each of the cards. It's lovely to see it done up the non-traditional blues, and while I'm not sure I have _this_ particular PB, I have an oldie that must be similar. It's never stamped out nicely, but perhaps to use it for w/coloring, it might. Thanks for the inspiration and have a wonderful wkend. Hugs
Happy November! Love your poinsettias! You are amazing with the color combinations! I hope to try my stamp soon! Thanks for inspiring and the visit! Much appreciated! only 47 more days of the down hill slope of shorter days! :)Have a great weekend
Wonderful cards! I like your poinsettias a lot! Wonderful colours, too!
Such fabulous makes Shirley and the watercolor effect stamp looks cool.
Warm crafty hugs from Shirl x x x

What a great idea and so effective, I must try this. The flowers look as if they were painted in a free way and the narrow dark matting sets each flower off beautifully.
