Another Tattered Flower

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week.   Summer has arrived here, it's hot and humid.  Ontario weather is strange, we go from winter to summer almost overnight.   Less than two weeks ago we had a few snow flurries and today I have the AC on as it's hot on our second floor.  Hopefully the nice weather stays :)

I had another play with Tattered Florals die cuts by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).   The background has more white space than I usually show but I thought the flower colour popped against it.

I stamped Hero Art's - Fabulous Flourish stamp in the background with smokey grey Versafine ink. (I love this flourish stamp it is fabulous!)  'Art' is from Chocolate Baroque's Artistic Expressions set.   Next I splattered a little acrylic paint and silver glimmermist.

The flower layers are coloured with Distress Ink.  I spritzed them with water, crinkled, unfolded, and then layered into the large flower.    I curled a few petals and glued prills to the flower centre.   The purple/orange mat is a piece of background that was hanging out in the my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

Hi Shirley, you are definitely working the Tim Holtz floral dies and I love how you've made the one on this card center of attention. The silver flourish and word stamp look absolutely exquisite and I really like how you've created a delicate frame in the same colours are the flower, which is something that I often do myself. It's absolutely gorgeous Shirley. Crafty hugs, Sandra X

A fabulous card Shirley and I love your white space with just that wonderful flourish and a little spattering in the background which does indeed show off that prettily coloured flower. I'm afraid proper Summer has not arrived in our neck of the woods just yet but hope it does soon as it is not long before we visit Northumberland. x

How unique of a design to add that gorgeous eye popping flower on top of the flourish. Indeed, snow flakes two weeks ago, and the air on today. Crazy. My mom lives in Atlanta and their spring has been cold and rainy which is unusual for them.

Beautiful card Shirley, I have this die and love it. Thought it was a bit big when I first got it but scrunchy up makes it a tad smaller and a fab result as you have here...love the colours.xx

Hi Shirley, I love this design. It is not your typical work with the white background, but as you say it works a treat with your brightly coloured flower. Really gorgeous card. Like you our weather went from pretty cold to quite hot in no time! Elaine xxx

I love that flourish, too, & need to use mine! Love the basically white background for your stunning flower, Shirley! Haven't cut my Tattered Florals in a long time, but I'm pinning your card for inspiration to use what I have!
