Christmas Bells

Happy Weekend everyone !

I have a change from Hummingbirds today - a Christmas design.  I love when Fall arrives, the temperatures are cooler so I have more energy and I'm inspired to create Christmas cards.   I'm showing one today using fabulous stamps from Chocolate Baroque.   I love to create cards with lots of embellishments and layers but with the cost of postage, I need to keep some fairly flat.

The background is the 'mop up' sheet from the background in my last post using Distress Paints and water on my craft mat.   Next I added more colour using a snowflake stencil by Memory Box and Distress Ink and then stamped the snowflake around in a couple of colours.

I stamped the bells and sentiment direct to the background with Cobalt Archival Ink and coloured with Prisma pencils.  I added highlights with a white pen and also clear Wink of Stella.   I also sprinkled a little white & silver embossing enamel and heated underneath.

Chocolate Baroque stamp sets:  Snowflake and bells are from A Child is Born.  Merry Christmas - I can't find this sentiment on their website but I know that I received it while on the Design Team, I love the font.

Stencils:  Memory Box - 'Modern Sprinkles' (which look like snowflakes to me, difficult to see in the photo) and The Crafters Workshop - 'Circle Explosion' with white acrylic paint and probably my 'most used' stencil.

Thanks for stopping by,
Shirley

This is gorgeous Shirley and the bells are so pretty and coloured beautifully with the Prisma pencils and love the background with the stencilling and stamping and the white pen is lovely and the circle explosion works so well with the snowflakes and a great colour combination too, also that large fancy script sentiment is the perfect finishing touch. x

When you explained how you did this I immediately recognized the colors. The colors you chose for the bells looks fantastic with the background. Beautiful Christmas card.

This is beautiful, and even though I can't get very Christmassy yet, I'm always up for a little bit of sparkle!

Such a gorgeous Christmas card Shirley, a great way to use up the leftover ink on the mat. Nice and flat for the postman too. Hope you're having a great weekend.

My, My. Your mopup background sheets always look fabulously one-of-a-kind treatments. This card looks very dimensional with the bells and your artistry in coloring. A gorgeous image, and well placed in your expert hands. It's one gorgeous Christmas card. Off to get a closer look at the hummer I saw featured on Ryn's FB page. TFS & Hugs.
