Green and Blue Poinsettias with Sea Bubbles

Hello everyone and welcome to the new followers, I hope everyone is doing well.  I've been busy with family visiting and my niece's wedding but now back with some Christmas designs.

I know it sounds a bit strange, Poinsettias with sea bubbles but I think it worked!   I was happy to find the awesome Tattered Poinsettia Die Set (Tim Holtz by Sizzix) recently and had some fun playing with them.

The background is Dylusions  and Distress Inks.  I stamped over top with Design by Ryn's Snowflake Set but it's hard to see as there is a lot 'going on'.    I also used white acrylic paint with a dotty Memory Box stencil.  I added glitter with spray glue onto the background.  Joy is from Chocolate Baroque's Artistic Expressions set.

I die cut the flowers on white card stock and coloured with Distress Ink including the new Twisted Citron which is a new favorite colour.  I stamped over some of the petals with Design by Ryn's Sea Bubbles Set (using the smaller stamp).  I also used Crackle paint on the flower and added glitter while wet.   I added small beads to the centre with Glossy Accents.   The greenery die cuts are from the Tim Holtz Sizzix die set - Holly Greens 658759.  I added a little white puff paint to the greens.

You can see the Sea Bubbles better on the flowers in this next design below:

I used Distress Inks in the background (with water and Acrylic plate) and when dry I stenciled over with a couple of Memory Box stencils and Distress Inks.  I also used Radiant Gels (African Jade) by ColourArte with a Holly Tim Holtz stencil.   Merry Christmas is from the Penny Black-Christmas Cheer set.

I coloured the flowers again with Citron Distress Ink and stamped using Sea Bubbles with the same ink.  After shaping I painted with Viva Crystall Gel and again added beads to the centres with Glossy Accents.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day,
Shirley

Wow, both of these cards are stunning. I love the colours you used. So non-traditional, just the way I like my Christmas cards. You did a nice job popping up the poinstettias.

Easy to see you had great fun with this splendid die! What wonderful sea flowers you have created too, using these marvelous DI's and all the ferns & bubbles. Love the embossing of the holly in #1, it fit in perfectly with the seascape. Always love the subtle backgrounds you create with the stencils & sprays. Each of these is so unique and beautiful, and who would think of the poinsettia shape as part of the sea? But it does work so well. Well DONE! (as always!). Hugs & TFS

This is really pretty Shirley and I love the background and the poinsettia colour is a refreshing change to the norm and the beads you have used for the centres look great. I love all the shimmer and shine too and the radiant gel you have used on the holly is gorgeous. Glad you are enjoying your summer. x

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS !! I love both cards, but the first one makes me drool. Love the Sea Bubbles stamp on the flowers, can't wait to pick mine up. It's such a great stamp, I just had to add that whole Sea Creatures set to my Ryn collection. See what you started??!! I may have to try the Dylusions Inks again *sigh*, you make such yummy backgrounds.

Thanks very much for all the details of your materials and processes. It's different to how I paint, so therefore totally fascinating and inspiring.
