Hibiscus Designs

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have a couple of designs today that feature Design by Ryn's new gorgeous Hibiscus Flower set (also available with the unmounted Hibiscus set) along with her fabulous Ginkgo and Hibiscus stencils.   They all work well together.

I used Distress Inks and Brushos in the background.  I used Distress Ink over Ginkgo stencil and then white acrylic paint and the Hibiscus stencil.  I stamp the Hibiscus several times on separate card stock with Cobalt Archival ink, cut them out, molded on the back (with stylus and foam mat), coloured with Distress Inks and attached.

I also have another card I used the Hibiscus in the background as well:

The background is a light covering of Pistachio Distress Ink using an acrylic block.  Using Ryn's Hibiscus stencil I blended the Pistachio and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks.  The little flowers are by Crealie - CLCF22 which I molded and coloured with Distress inks.   The little sprigs are from Memory box, Winterberry.

One of my followers mentioned recently that it was unusual to see embellishments on one of my designs.  It's true that I don't use them all the time (maybe my style doesn't always suit them), but I do enjoy 'playing' with them.   Somehow I've still managed to have a large die collection that needs to be used more -  I especially love flowers, leaves and flourishes.   Too much stash and not enough time !

Thanks for stopping by, it's a little early but I hope you have a great Easter!

Wow stunning Shirley, I love the lovely stamp set from Ryn but I really must invest in the stencils they work so well together. The colours are wonderful as always and I love the gorgeous crealie flowers. I can totally relate to "too much stash not enough time". Hope the weather is beginning to warm over there, have a great week.

Love your creations! You are so correct; too much stash and not enough time! I think that is so the case with most of us! But love my stash! :) your flower addition add a nice touch! You must be up well before the crack of dawn! Hope you have a Happy Easter! PS. I came home with Nicholson's yesterday! At least they don't take up much space! :)

Two absolutely stunning cards Shirley and these new designs by Ryn are really beautiful and are going on my ever growing list! I love the gingko stencil too which complements the design so prettily. The colours are gorgeous and the added flowers leaves and ribbons are the perfect finishing touches. Thank you for your Easter wishes and hope you have a good Easter too. x

Hey Shirley,
Wishing you a great Easter as well! Many thanks for these two beautiful cards! Love how you combined the stamps and stencils in the first card. Beautiful inky background in it! The subtle colour blending in the second card is nice. You have a good eye for adding embellishments. They work really well in this design. Big hugs!
