Summer Fairy

Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well.    It's been busy here and I haven't been able to visit blogs as much as I normally do, so sorry!

It's also been extremely cold here with lots of snow, I'm dreaming of warmer temperatures.   My design today combines stamps from Chocolate Baroque and Design by Ryn and makes me think of Summer.

The background was created with the new Cracked Pistachio along with Evergreen Bough and Mustard Seed Distress Inks using an acrylic block and water. I stamped Patio Stone over the background with all three Distress Inks. I stamped with Spiral Branch set (highlighted with a Gellyroll pen) and the fairy onto the background with Cobalt Archival ink.

The butterflies from Summer Fairy were stamped on separate card stock, coloured with Inktense pencils, cut out and attached.

I bleached the fairy's wings and when dry coloured with Inktense pencils.  I also used stickles on the butterfly bodies and the fairy wings.

Design by Ryn stamps:  Patio Stone, Spiral Branch Set
Chocolate Baroque stamps:  June Fairy, July Fairy

Thanks for your visit and have a great day,
Shirleyx

Stunning Shirley. I love the beautiful summery feeling you've given to this card, which at the moment seems so far away. Hope you are having a good week even if it is busy.

This is gorgeous Shirley and the background is beautiful. I love the way you can see the background pattern through the silhouette just a little as it makes it look like the fairy has a subtly patterned dress on. The butterflies are so prettily coloured and the fairy wings with the added sparkle and also the little bit of sparkle on the butterfly bodies is just perfect. x

Fabulous work with such a creative use of the stamps. Love the way you have used the little purple leaves to make a fairy frame.
