Whimsical Patchwork Trees and Flowers

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I have two designs today featuring stamps from Chocolate Baroque's wonderful and whimsical Patchwork Landscape.   I love this stamp set :)  Yes I know I say that a lot about their designs, but it's true.

I blended Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks using ripped cardstock as a mask to create the background.   I also used a piece of cardstock with a circle and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to create the sun.    I stamped a fragment from Textured Fragments in some areas of the ground.   The patchwork tree was stamped with Cobalt Archival Ink and coloured with Distress Inks, water and brush (on my craft mat).   'Just to Say' is from Mackintosh Words.

The die cut flowers are by Heartfelt Creations - Vintage Floret (coloured with Mustard Seed and highlighted with Peacock Feathers Distress Inks) and the Pine leaf is a McGill punch.

This second design is CAS created with circles cut into card stock.

I used Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers & Picked Raspberry Distress Inks blended over the circles.  The stamping again is with Cobalt Archival Ink and coloured with Distress Inks and highlighted with a white Gelly Roll pen.   'Just a Note" is from Mackintosh Words.

Thanks for your visit and have a wonderful Easter weekend,
Shirley

Hi, Shirley! The patch work quality of your designs look amazing - at first, I really did think it was fabric at first. It reminds me of sunrise here on our little homestead, as the morning air turns a yellowish tinge from the rising sun. Another of your magical garden scenes. I always can picture the 2 of us strolling through them, smiling and sharing our delight in the colors! hugs, de

Happy Easter ! What a lovely treat it was this AM to see this lovely landscape. Both are beautiful, and you do CAS with great skill ! I don't have Peacock Feathers, thought I had enough DI, but every time you use it I want it. I think you are a bad influence on me !
As for my adventure with sprays, trust me, if it was just ink on my hands, I wouldn't be bothered. It's my talent for getting it everywhere that gets me !
Glad you enjoyed my header, I thought I'd stick those darlings on while waiting for my tulips to come up. We don't get them often, so it was a real treat to have them visit.
Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend, complete with some nice spring weather!

Happy Easter. The first is very striking with those little flowers echoing the yellow circular patchwork pattern of the tree, plus the texture fragment picks up on the hollyhocks. I love the CAS idea - those circles really bring out the hollyhock centres & I love the way you managed to get the 'o' in NOTE in the middle of that green circle.

Here I am again, crawling back up into my chair after you knocked me off with your impeccable card art, Shirley! You seriously slay me. That first card looks like candy - or am I just lusting after the Easter candy I just loaded in plastic eggs to hide for the twins?! No, that's not it, it's your card! You always ask me when I'm writing my book and I'm always asking you, when are you opening your gallery?!! Happy Easter to you!! Hugs, Darnell

Great cards Shirley. I really like the softer background for the sharp stamped image and the way the yellow flowers add a ray of sunshine too. The CAS card is a smashing idea. I do like these stamps. Have a great weekend. Elaine x

Wow, I like how your did the BG, the sun, The trees, the foreground, and those lovely flowers too! For me, I feel warmth and comfort. Your second card is so lovely with your choice of colors for the BG and your image is beautiful with it!

Your cards are so lovely. A picked raspberry sun! - very good, I like it.
I love the first card but the second is my favourite this time, it is such a good minimalist design, and I know that a CAS card which looks interesting can be difficult to achieve.
Lovely work, Shirley, and I hope your garden is now drying out and beginning to be workable again.

Two gorgeous cards Shirley. The first is just so bright and summery and the background is beautifully done with that lovely orangy sun and the pretty diecut flowers and punched leaves go perfectly. The second is much simpler but so well designed and the muted tones of the circles with that hollyhock flower is lovely, and a great idea to place another circle with the sentiment across it. Hope you had a good weekend. x
