Published in Craft Stamper Magazine !

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.   I've been extremely busy and behind in blogging and visiting blogs.   I apologise that I haven't been around to see most of you lately.  I'm also having trouble with blogger (or our Internet system) taking forever to download pages, and I just don't have time right now.  It's slower when there are lots of photos.   The joys of living in the country with satellite Internet.  Also it seems that I cannot no longer join as a follower with Google Friends connect.  Will have to look into doing something else ?

We are now experiencing a 'colder than normal' April and where we live there is still a lot of snow & ice.   Spring is very slow arriving.

I was honoured to see this card below published in the May issue of the wonderful Craft Stamper magazine (from the U.K.).     I was inspired to use a technique described by Helen Chilton in the February 2014 issue, "Make your Mark" article & designs.

The background is glossy cardstock and a lot of the stamping was done with Tombow markers direct to the stamp.  The black images is with black Stazon ink.    I also used a white Gellyroll pen for highlighting.   The stamps are from two Crafty Individual sets available from Chocolate Baroque:  Young Girl and Lace and  Lace Hearts.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by
Shirley

Hello Shirley, congratulations on having this wonderful card in Craft Stamper, I must go and look for it. There is so much to see in the card, so many patterns and details and with the focal point of the girl. Also I like the rose colours and the greens together, a combination I've been doing more lately too, do you think this colour combination is in the air?
As for Google Friend Connect, it does funny things sometimes, I had this problem last week but then it sorted itself so hope that is also the case with you.

Congratulations Shirley - love the colours of this. Hope your computer starts to behave, maybe you need a new router perhaps or your ISP needs to check the connection speeds. Hope your snow melts soon……take care of yourself in the meantime.

Saw your card in the CS, it looks beautiful Shirley. Great you were published, congratulations.
Being published means to me, that your work is very much appreciated.
About 2 weeks ago I made a card with alcoholinks in totally different colours than yours and still they can be sisters. I will put it on my blog, so you can see for yourself.
Sending warmth your way. Groetjes Gery

Congrats on your publication, Shirley. The card is lovely, like all of your cards! Your collage is beautiful and the focal point is just wonderful!!

About your internet, I really increased the speed on mine by moving all of my photos, etc., to an external drive.

About the followers part, I did an article about that very thing. As of about 3 weeks ago, no one can add or remove from the followers section. I didn't joing Google+ because they know enough about me already and I find their follow page confusing at best. I found I could still add blogs to reader, but I couldn't delete them if a person was no longer posting. I went to Feedly for my reader. It is free and easy to use. Hope this helps some. :-)

PS I think Google is going to be doing away with free blogs soon and is inching toward it. All of the space on servers has to be costly as well as the maintenance. I am starting to think about how to save posts I really like. LOLOL

First congrats dear Shirley for publishin. Your card is so beautiful, love it. Our weekend at the ARTSpecially Event was great,I have enjoyed it and met many many bloggers. I read that the weather is so cold by you. Here we have had a lot of sun and warm temperatures. Now it is raining and that after weeks. We haven't had yet winter.
I hope for you that the sun will come soon. My lovely greet and big hug.

Big congratulations on being published, and well deserved too. This one is so very special, I can easily see why it was selected for the magazine. I was reading Shirley's post about Google, and I think she is thinking along the same lines as I about google & free blogging. Just lately I've been able to add myself as a new follower; sometimes I see the profile picture, sometimes only the 'gray head'. I don't know what is meant by the Feedly reader, but I'm going to check it out. It's frustrating, and I wish Blogger would just be upfront and tell us what is going on. TFS such a gorgeous card, Hugs
