Steampunk with Blue & Yellow

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.  It is freezing cold here with strong winds.   It doesn't feel like Spring is going to arrive anytime soon.   But the sun is shining.

I have a Steampunk Design today that was fun to create.

Chocolate Baroque Stamp sets:   Artistic Expressions, Steampunk Butterfly, Steampunk Christmas (gears fragment).  I also used a script stencil and Spellbinder Gear dies.

The background is Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean Distress inks blended on Mixed Media paper.  I flicked water over top to create the water marks.  When dry I blended Salty Ocean DI over the script stencil.   I flicked black Dylusions Ink using the applicator randomly (inspired by an article in the March 2014 Craftstamper Magazine).     The gear die cuts were sprayed with blue Dylusions ink and I blended black Distress Ink around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day !
Shirley

This even looks like it was fun. It has an almost industrial feel to it. Even the butterfly has a mechanical feel against the background. Nice job.
Sorry to say it is forecast for another snow storm this weekend. Wonder if there are any spare seats going to the space station until spring!

This is lovely. When I make something Steam punk I use darker colors.
But this just looks great. Must think about it next time. Thanks for
showing this card. Anneke.

Love the background, super creation. Glad you have some sunshine. Skipper send purrs to Archie and Sheena. She said to tell Sheena, she understand about Archie because she did not get on with her little sister Eva very well. :)

Another gorgeous card Shirley, and the Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean DI's are to die for. The combination of the stamped and die cut gears complement one another so well, and the background detail with the water spots, ink blots, script and tiny gears all work so beautifully together. The butterfly makes a dramatic finishing touch. Hope your weather improves soon, and enjoy your weekend. x

I love the way that butterfly just softens the whole design which is very striking & masculine. The colours are a lovely mixture against the black elements & I love the glow created by the Mustard Seed inks & how it gently blends via green into Salty Ocean. Your positioning of the script stencil flows beautifully leading the eye about the design.
Take care with the weather - we have one daffodil daring to flower midst the rain.

Brilliant colors and design for your lovely Steampunk card dear Shirley!

I was just feeling grateful for the blue sky and sunshine on a really chilly day here in northern Virginia (cold for us at least)...

Wishing you and yours a great weekend

Wow Shirley you are very industrious. Again a wonderful created card in steampunk art.
So fresh colours and the little butterfly gives the technically look a little touch of softness, so it looks well balanced.

Great card, Shirley. Something different this one! Beautiful colours you achieved by stamping and distressing over another colour.
Heard on television tonight that here in Holland we are having the most soft winter since the beginning of counting!!!
You can come over here to warm yourself.
Have a nice weekend. Groetjes Gery

Hi, Shirley! I'm sure you are ready for Spring! I feel for everyone affected by this terribly cold weather - dangerous as well as uncomfortable! In the meantime, your steam-punky artwork is bright and sunny - cheery, and I love the combination of elements - leave it to you to find a way of using gears and still making it feel like "mother nature is at work" behind the scenes. This is gorgeous! hugs, de
