Inspired by Suzi Blu

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a fabulous weekend.   I would like to welcome the new followers, thank you for your interest and visits !

I have something different to show today.   I enjoy drawing 'not real' and 'doodle style' faces.   Recently a friend pointed out a book by mixed media artist, Suzi Blu that she thought I would enjoy.  It's titled "Mixed Media Girls" and she is right I love the book, it's great fun.   Here is my first 'folk art' girl that I drew and painted in my Journal.

It's difficult to see but the background has texture from acrylic paint, which I stencilled over.   I stamped Design by Ryn's Sea Bubbles to add some fun texture to her hair.  The colouring was done with Prisma Pencils and Neocolour II (water soluble) crayons.   I also used TCW stencils:  Starfall, Circle Explosion and Cubist with Distress Inks and a white pen for the highlighting.

And here is a photo that shows how buried a couple of chairs are in snow.   It's a bit milder today, it's melting a little but it's going to get quite cold this week again.......Spring please come soon !

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day,
Shirley

Your girl is a real beauty Shirley...so original and appealing!
I am hoping I find my own style some day soon ;)

That IS quite a lot of white stuff you have there = Wow!
Someone told me that snow is winter's mulch ...
Just imagine all of the spring flowers sleeping under there waiting to pop.

Happy Weekend to you and yours

One can see, that you enjoy making this. I think you did a great job, don't think that I could do it this way. Enjoy your book and stay inside for the cold, so we can enjoy lots of your work.
Oh, how I would like to have a tiny little bit of your snow. You made a beautiful picture!

We don't get snow in Bangalore(India), and we are amazed to see this huge snow fall in US and Canada this year :) I saw snow fall only once in my life when I visited Scotland :) and I enjoyed ! :) I love the pic of your garden with snow!

Your girl is beautiful, you created such character to her face, she draws you in. This is a book I would imagine to be fascinating to study.
In awe of the skill you have displayed in creating your girl.
Please keep the snow as the U.K. grinds to a halt with the smallest of snow flurries!!!
