Let the Adventure Begin

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week.  It's hard to believe but here we are in mid August already.  Our weather has been cooler than normal, it's been wonderful but our gardens could use some rain.

I have something that is not for Christmas today :)

I worked on the cover of my small Art Journal made with Gelli Plate prints, (I created the journal in a recent workshop).

The background was created with a Gelli Plate, Acrylic Paints and stencils.    I used black Acrylic paint with TCW mini cornflowers stencil and outlined in white.   It looks like I was unsteady but it's the texture on the page that created bumps along the way.

Design by Ryn stamps:   Waterdroplets 2 and Dancing Faerie Set.
Chocolate Baroque stamp:   The sentiment is from Artistic Affirmations

Below is the cover page with the front flap opened.

The faerie was on another project that I wasn't happy with so I rescued her for this cover.   I cut her out out and used Tombow glue to adhere.  She is coloured with Inktense pencils - she was stamped over acrylic paints with Gesso over top.

And below is a beautiful card that I received from my Tante Saakje recently.   She used stamps by Designs by Ryn.   It was a nice surprise to receive in the mail.   She used Ryn's Leafy Branch and Gerbera stamps.

This card above was created by my Tante Saakje !

And here is another look at the Faerie :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Shirley

Superb journal cover, what artistry. As I've said before I enjoy reading the details of how you made it, that enhances the finished design for me even more.

Just saw this on Ryn's FB, said to myself "Hmmm bet it's a Gelli plate". Popped over for a closer look. Wowsers! Fantastic, and love all the texture you have going on. Beautiful colors and fabulous showcase for the stamps too. Gotta check out those branches..how did I miss them? Got an order on the way. Gosh, so many goodies to drool over. TFS such super inspiration. Hugs

Well,Duh, I think I did have that branch stamp on my recent order. It looks different on the card than at the 'store'. I think I put it in the last order..I know I liked it! LOL

How lovely to have another crafter in the family & who delights in the same stamps. Your journal is a deliight with those colours & I love the white outlining of the black stencilled flowers - think that will have to go on my wish list (the cornflowers). Your faerie looks as if she's quite at home where you've placed her too - she must be relieved to have got settled!

Oh, Shirley! How magical that cover is with the flap that opens - I LOVE IT. Gorgeous colors and just that hint of flesh tone to pop everything else! Your Tante Saakje's card is absolutely gorgeous with the small orange in those big beautiful golden blooms! So pretty! Sorry you are not getting enough rain. We have more than our share this year, but I won't complain at all because my caladiums are lasting longer. Hope your are well, and enjoying your stamping time! xo
