African Daisy and Maple Leaves

Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well.   I would like to welcome the new followers and also thank everyone for your visits and kind comments.

I have a card today created with Design by Ryn stamps.    Ryn has designed many wonderful Leaf stamps (located in her Flora Section ) that create the most wonderful texture for backgrounds.  I used Maple Leaf on this background and if the colours were changed to reds, oranges and browns, the leaves would work well for Fall & Thanksgiving designs.

I started by applying Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks using an Acrylic Block.  (apply the inks direct to block, spritz with water & apply to paper).       Next I sprayed a little White Linen and Teal Dylusions Inks (just can't leave those bottles alone!) and blotted off with a paper towel roll.

I stamped Ryn's Maple Leaf with Imperial Purple Versafine Ink around the parameter of the background.   I embossed African Daisy on watercolour paper with a deep purple powder, coloured with Tombow markers using a brush and water, cut them out and attached to the background.   I added Crealies CL CS 02 swirl die cuts.    I left the centre of the flowers white to keep them prominent, love the texture :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Shirley

{sigh} just plumb gor-jus! I got a post with some new ones yes'dy, but this beautiful flower was not in the bag! Next time I hope. Love the marvelous background and this stamp really highlights all the colors. I have a link to a neat video on my blog about diluting the sprays, adding W.Linen to some to make opaque colors. I've tried with the After Midnight & it was great. (oops the post is scheduled for Friday). TFS & Hugs

Wow such a stunning card Shirley. The colours are so gorgeous together on the background and the african daisies look fantastic. I love the leaf used in the background, this will have to be added to my wish list, along with some more time in the day to be able to use all off these stamps.

Hope you are well.

Wow, Shirley! (I am so partial to Ryn's designs). The use of that maple leaf is pure art in that gorgeous background. Your African Daisies are beautiful with the delicate petals, impeccable shading, and wonderful dimension. My favorite part of these pretties, however, is the white centers! WOW. Beautiful design, my Canadian friend! hugs, de

Interesting use of the maple leaf stamp & I love the effect you achieved with all the use of purple against the teal & how you echoed it by using purple embossing powder for the flowers. Super effect of the brilliantly pink Tombow colouring pulling out the Picked Raspberry colour from the background.
