Gelli Plate Background and Leopard Spots

Happy Mid-week everyone, I hope you are doing well.

I'm showing two pages in the journal that I created in a recent Mono Printing Gelli plate workshop.  I posted a few of the background pages in a previous post, but not these.   I stamped images by Designs by Ryn to complete the pages.

Design by Ryn stamps:  Selini (Moth), Leafy Branch and Leopard Spots.

Miranda used the spots & a moth together in some of her designs as she could 'see' that a similiar pattern on the Leopard spots is also on the Moth.   I think they look great together.  The sentiment was a gift at the door of the Art Specially Event in Zeist, The Netherlands this year.  My sweet sister gave hers to me :)   Thanks Sis, you are the best !

I added Gesso in the areas to be stamped.   I used black Indian Ink to stamp the images and coloured them with Dylusions.  The leafy branch was stamped with white Pigment ink.   I coloured Selini with Dylusions inks (on my craft mat & brush) and highlighted with a white pen.

Here is the page folded out with the right side also stamped in similiar manner.  The sentiment is from 2012 Art Specially Event.

And below is the right hand side cropped

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

WOW Shirley, I'm always fascinated by your art works. The pages are both awesome, my favorit is the right side. Wonderful stamping combinations, and the colors are fabulous too.

Delightful the way the two pages work together & I love the effect of the leopard spots with the moth's spots. The angling of the moth outwards on each page gives such an 'open' feel to these quite busy pages. Certainly looks like you're having a lot of fun.

Both pages are drop-down gorgeous! How well these images combined to make such a fantastic look. I'm loving the blues & greens. The gesso is new to me...do you put it on the paper, let it dry, then cover it, or on the stamp? Whatever, it's just a beautiful piece of work! TFS & I can tell you are going to town with your gelli plate. Gotta visit some youtubes. Hugs

Shirley, thanks for explaining...I appreciate it. When I get 'caught up' one of these days, I'm going to get adventurous with the gelli plate! Right now I'm hung up on Dylusions sprays. Can't handle 2 things all at once! Hugs
