Fancy Flower & Mixed Media

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying the summer, it's been very hot in Ontario, Canada but has recently cooled to more comfortable temps.

I have a design today using a little mixed media along with another flower from Chocolate Baroque's beautiful Fancy Flower set along with a fragment from Lace Fragments. .

I started with a sheet from Chocolate Baroque's Leafy Brocade Printable set and glued it to water colour paper with Modge Podge.   I love the printable sheets, the designs are beautiful and you don't have to store paper, just simply print when you would like one.  They are easy to order too !

Next I added a thin layer of Gesso and when dry I coloured with Neocolour II crayons (water soluble) in botches.   I spritzed water over top and let the colours run together.   I stamped the images with Teal Blue Stazon Ink (permanent water proof ink)  I coloured the flower with Tombow markers and blended with a brush & water.  I outlined with a water based Sharpie paint pen.   I added stickles to the center of the flower.    The sentiment is from Words of Gratitude

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
Shirley

The use of that gold key with the golden ribbon plus the glow around the fancy flower is so effective & I love the way your lace fragments border echoes the fancy flower too. The whitework is picked up beautifully byt eh white polka dots on the ribbon.

I love the underwater quaility of the background, beautiful colours. Paula's comment about the gold key made me look again and she is right, the warmth of that gold highlight picks up something in the green area and makes it glow somehow. The white highlighting on the fancy flower is lovely and those lace fragment edges are beautiful. I love those lace fragment stamps. Have a great day, yours will just be beginning I think. I am off to bake some fat free brownies before an afternoon in my craft shed finishing a card for a special friend. Elaine x

Wow this is stunning Shirley. I love the colours you've used and the flower looks so good outlined with the white pen. Glads your temps have lowered a little, they have here too. At least we can sleep at night now.

Now I have to decide- do I love your previous purple card better or this stunning teal. Too hard of a decision. This one is plumb gorgeous too. Thanks for explaining the steps you followed to create this one. I'll check out that paper. Love the Choc. Baroque stamps & will be interested in this digi paper. BTW, what kind of printer do you use to print your digi's? TFS such a striking card.
