Rain Drops by Ryn

Hello Everyone, I hope you are having a great day.     We had freezing rain overnight, it looks quite magical outside with heavy ice everywhere!    I hope the buds on our flowering trees are strong enough to survive.

We are very excited about Designs by Ryn's new Water Effects stamps that have just been launched.
Ryn's popular Waterdroplets have been flying off her shelves and I'm sure these Rain Drops will too, they are so cool !

To create the background I started with water colour paints - wet on wet (tutorial here).  I added a little salt in a couple of spots for added texture.   After letting it dry I stamped Patio Stone with Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac & Salty Ocean Distress Inks.   Next I blended Seedless Preserves & Salty Ocean DI over Studio Calico's Circle Graph Stencil.  I stamped the Rain Drops with Black Soot Distress Ink and highlighted with a white Gelly Roll pen.

I embossed Black Eye Susan with black, coloured with my Tom Bow markers, added glitter and cut out as shown.   The sentiment that works perfectly with the Rain Drops is from Chocolate Baroque's Loving Sentiments set.

Design by Ryn's stamps are extremely high quality, deeply etched, they stamp out beautiful every time.   If you are interested in purchasing Ryn's stamps, please visit her webstore for more information.   Also Ryn's Facebook page is updated ongoing with lots of inspiration & the Design Team Blogs are posted on my sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend,
Shirley

I love the new raindrop stamp, and ordered it as soon as I saw it. Hopefully it will be here next week. I love this card you've made with the stamp, and wish now that I'd ordered the patio stone stamp too (there's always next time).

Shirley, placing that "belly band" across the main panel is a GREAT idea! Really creates a lot of visual interest with this background, while bringing your fantastic flower to the front. The circles really do look like puddles made from the rain - I don't like that you had freezing rain - YUCK - we were supposed to have strong rain today, but instead we just had very high winds. The oaks are losing their leaves now, and the wind made it look and sound like rain, but it was really raining leaves. Thanks for being willing to share your umbrella of friendship with me, Shirley. Beautiful card. hugs, de

Hey Shirley, LOVE LOVE LOVE what you did with Raindrops! Your card is the very first to come in using one of the new stamps. SO cool :) Donna is right, Patio stone and the stencil you used look like rain puddles. I was actually going to release rain ripples this time but I couldn't get it to look right. Next time ;) Beautiful colors and format to the card. Hugs!

Such a fabulous card, with all the different techniques, textures and dimensions. I always enjoy seeing what you've created for the day. Love these raindrops, and after trying my first try with the Dylusions sprays, am I ever even more impressed with what you showcase here. Had my 1st play with some gelatos I've had for a while, yesterday. I liked those better than the sprays. Practice, practice. Glad we just had some rain & lightning last night. You can keep the ice, thank you very much!!! Have a great wkend, and tfs such a masterpiece. Hugs

Those Rain Drops are just magical & I love the light you painted into your Black Eye Susan whilst at the same time echoing the colours of your background. There is so much movement in this especially with your use of the Patio Stone with the stencilling. I shall have to do some work on backgrounds with watercolours & salt. I do hope your plants have survived the weather.
