Flowering Dogwood

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day.   I've been pruning shrubs in the gardens and it feels great!   It's cool & we still have snow hanging around here & there but the sun is shining which always feels good.

I would like to welcome the new followers here, thank you for your support that makes blogging so much fun!

It's been a little while since I've had a chance to participate in a challenge over at Impression Obsession but I've managed to create something for their current "Spring Fun" theme.     I've had this beautiful (Spring) flowering Dogwood image in a drawer unused for a long time.   How does that happen?  Too many stamps & not enough time!   I finally inked up the stamp and put my Prisma Pencils to work!

Impression Obsession stamps used:   CAC 018 - Greenery & Dogwood 3 - H12004

I stamped the Dogwood onto Kraft paper with black Stazon Ink, coloured with my Prisma Pencils and added glitter to the centres.   I stamped the Greenery Cover a Card stamp with Versamark onto a piece of light yellow Basic Grey paper & blended green Pan Pastels over top.     As you can see,  where there is Versamark ink the pastels are darker.    Greenery was my first CAC stamp & I have many more as I love using them, but this one is a favorite!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Shirley

This is just gorgeous Shirley! Had to pin it! So happy for you that you got a chance to get into the garden! They are calling for snow and freezing rain here but I see light at the endless tunnel of winter. I decided not to use any of my old stamps just the buckets of new uninked stamps. One can't have to many stamps silly!
Big hugsa nd love

Love it! I forgot about using pastels and VersaMark, I'm going to try that again because yours is so pretty. I think that Dogwood stamp is gorgeous the way you coloured it.I'm digging out my IO stamps so I can play too. All the snow is gone here, and mud season is about to kick into high gear.

Shirley, this is lovely. I admire your ability to work with the versa and pastels and make something so pretty. I was so totally challenged with that technique that I gave up after a few tries. LOL! Your dogwood are beautiful.

A lovely card, Shirley! Isn't it fun to break out and do something different like this? You have really done an awesome job with the shading and colors of Prismacolor pencils on the kraft cardstock - BEAUTIFUL - and the pastels over versamark is one of my favorite techniques. For years that was just about all I did LOL - thanks for sharing your beautiful artwork! hugs, de

Hi Shirley.
This dogwood is coloured so nice and delicate. It reminds me of the time we had a garden. With this shrub(bush).
I have this stamp but never coloured it so lovely with the perspective in it. Beautiful Shirley. "lieve groetjes"

These are such pretty dogwood flowers! The dogwood outside my kitchen window is slowly opening. Each day it opens a bit more. Right now the flowers are a pretty celery green. They are a really special flower.

This is gorgeous Shirley. I love the colouring onto the Kraft card, the dogwood looks lovely. The CAC background coloured with the pan pastels looks so good too, a great way to use this kind of stamp.

Glad your snow is disappearing and you are managing some time in the garden.

I love your colouring of the flowers on the Kraft & how you used ping gems & pink ribbon. The Greenery Cover a Card is superb & I love the way the background you created is highlighted by the pale green glittery flower centres.
