Let the Adventure Begin

Hello everyone, I hope that your week is going well.   It's a beautiful sunny day today, makes us feel like Spring will come.  We just need the 3 feet of snow to melt!

I'm inspired by many bloggers who use Doodles in their card & journal art but when Rosie posted aother beautiful design & link to a tutorial recently I got my Art Journal out to Doodle.    Doodle drawing is not new to me, it's something that I've enjoyed as far back as I can remember.

I started with Dylusions Inks, yellow, lime, green, peacock & purple along the page.  I misted water over top and blotted with a paper roll.      Next I used Acrylic paints with templates & also used the 'ghost technqiue' with the circles (spray water over template and blot to remove ink).

I drew doodles with both black pigment and white GellyRoll pens & added liquid pearls.    The flower is a template which I first used black Acrylic paint and then drew around the petals.  I doodled in the stem & leaves.

Stamps:  Designs by Ryn's Leafy Branch and Chocolate Baroque's Artistic Affirmations.

Mini TCW Stencils:   Circle Explosion, Luscious Leaves, Splats, Zinnia

Thanks for your visit and have a great day!
Shirley

You've got the blending of those gorgeous colours off to a fine art Shirley, I'm still learning and playing and I know I desperately need a yellow.

heh heh, let the doodling begin! It shows you are not a novice, of course, wonderful journal. I know you will have so much fun doodling in it, and just plain PLAYING. Your colorful imagination will be delighted as you revisit the gardens of your journal. Thank you for always sharing your colorful masterpieces with us. (I'm a Shirley Groupie) LOL hugs, de (PS, will you please keep your arctic blasts up there? no reason to send them to Florida).

I like your doodles! Looks like you had fun drawning them. The background is great again and the flower pops out beautifull! Warm greetings, Gerrina

This looks great fun, especially the way you adapted the Staz On technique (thanks for the link). I particularly like how the dimensional pinky red centre of your stencilled flower echoes the colour at the bottom of the piece. I like your use of the Liquid Pearls on the stencilled points & the way one's eye rope down towards the leaves where you added more of them & the sense of droppingness (couldn't think of a better word, sorry) created by the white & black swirls.

Art Journalling is so new to me (only started this week) and I have just seen this creation, totally blown away.

Can't wait to be able to do something like this. Haven't done my front cover yet but I hope it turns out as magnificent as this.

Shirley, this is magnificent! I just don't have the right words to describe how ethereal it is. My 14 YO daughter was standing behind me as this post of yours was on the computer screen, and she said, "Woooow!" She loves it. She also was really taken with your dragon card, a few posts above this. The colors of its background made her swoon! (me too ;)

It was so nice to have a visit from you yesterday! :)
