African Daisies for Easter

Hello everyone,  Happy Easter Weekend!

I have a couple of cards today featuring stamps from Designs by Ryn.

This first card features Ryn's African Daisy, Seaweed set & Sea Bubbles.     I must have 'Spring Fever' with these sunny colours.    We are still waiting for our snow to melt, but it is getting milder, I can't wait to get into the gardens again.

The background is a piece of watercolour paper that I used as a 'mop up' sheet of green & blue from other projects.

I used both stamps from the Seaweed set - the outline and solid design to create the 'foilage' with Pine Needles Distress Ink.  I used a white Gellyroll pen to colour inside the outline branches. I stamped the small Sea Bubble along the edge with black Versafine Ink and again highlighted with the white Gellyroll pen.  I embossed the Daisies with black and coloured with my Tombow markers.

The sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque's Words of Gratitude set.

And below is a second design using the same African Daisy stamp.   The actual card is much more vibrant, the photograph is dark unfortunately and I tried many ways to get it to come out properly.

I started with Dylusions Inks in the background (red & purple).    I used Dylusions Luscious Leaves stencil with Viva Decor Bronze Modelling Creme.  I love the texture & shine you get using this creme.  It dries quickly, you need to clean your stencil immediately with water after using.

I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to stamp the Leafy Branch  and blended more around the edges of the background.  The African Daisies were embossed with gold,  I used Mica Colour paints to colour & added Copper stickles to the centres.    All stamps are available one line at Designs by Ryn's webstore.

The African Daisy is also available at Crop Circles.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend!
Shirley

Two stunning cards Shirley, I love the zingy greens and yellows of the top card. But I also love the reds in the second, along with the leaf design in the paste around the edge.

Have a wonderful Easter, and I hope your snow soon melts.

Hey Shirley, wishing you a lovely Easter! I just love the gold border that you framed the flowers with in the second card and the slightly different hues you used to colors the flowers with. The first card is my favorite. Amazing use of Seaweed Set as foliage and Sea Bubbles Set as a border. Very creative!

Really like them both Shirley, but the colours of the first really are my favourites and the depth you have created with the highlighting.

Hope you managed to get into the garden over Easter, wishing the same here because like you we have a lot to deal with, about 2 acres and it soon gets away from you if left.

Wishing you a happy Easter.

I absolutely love your first creation - just the combination of your use of white with the colours & the way this daisies look like sea anemones - it's a gorgeous underwater scene & I love your matting technique with the black plus a colour from the image; maybe I see it because it's something I've been thinking of. Your second is equally striking but so different - there's a sense of luscious decadence & the mauve glow discernible on each of your flower centres is something else when seen alongside the copper.
With Easter Greetings

OHHHHH, SHIRLEY!!! These are gorgeous! I especially like the "white" details in the top card, and the gold details in the red card. The African daisies are pretty in both cards, but they are each done so uniquely - does not even look like the same image! Amazing what the different art mediums achieve in the appearance, isn't it? BEAUTIFUL cards! I like that you used the "mop up" page for your background. Great idea! hugs, de

Oh, Shirley, how gorgeous! I like both cards. The bronze modeling creme on the second one is just captivating. I had wondered at first how you 'embossed' the vine and made it look so perfect. Now I know your secret!

Those African daisies are beautiful. :) Happy Easter, my friend!
