Zentangle Butterfly

Hello everyone,  I hope you are doing well.    We are having a 'snow day' as it's snowing so heavy that I can hardly see out our windows.  It started yesterday, we are expecting a foot or more.  Lots of digging later but for now, it's a great day for crafting while we are cozy & warm inside!

I ordered the Tangled Garden set from Chocolate Baroque when it was first introduced last Fall and only recently had a chance to take it out for a 'play'.    This set is again very beautiful featuring Zentangled butterflies & more.   I know I'm repeating myself but I can't help it as every design from Chocolate Baroque is gorgeous.      I love this butterfly, the talented designer for Chocolate Baroque included lots of detail in this large stamp.

The background was created with Dylusions inks.  Next I added Silver Smooch Ink randomly using an acrylic block with a little water mixed into it and then rubbed it on.

I embossed the butterfly with black, sprayed it with the purple Dylusions, misted with water and blotted.   I removed the ink in some areas & then added blue & purple with a brush.    I drew in the antennae with a black pigment pen as they were cut off when decoupaging the butterfly.

The quote is from Chocolate Baroque's Pretty Poppies set.

Here is a look at the Tangled Garden (A4 full sheet ) stamp set, so many design possibilities using it:

Thanks for your visit and have a great day !
Shirley

This is so gorgeous Shirley, I love the colours as always, and love how you've done the background.. I have this set sitting ready to use and so far they've not seen an ink pad.

I hope the snow doesn't get too deep, but then at least you have a good excuse for crafting. Have a good weekend.

I love the way you used aqua to highlight certain elements of the butterfly to tie in with the background colouring. The pinks & mauves do too (especially thinking of colour theory) but it's that selective use of the aqua. The black card base ties in beautifully with the whole concept of Zentangle too I particularly like you pale pearls too & how the eye is led from the trio down to the antennae.
Do take care midst your weather - my husband suggested it's because of global warming (he's definitely a global warming skeptic).

Shirley, GORGEOUS images - just beautiful - but your card turns them into INCREDIBLE. Only you have a special way with these mediums and brilliant colors! Amazing! I wonder what your cards look like in person. They must be spectacular. Thanks for always "brightening" my day with your wonderful colors, textures and images!

Fabulous colours on this beautiful card Shirley. CB have some gorgeous butterflies in their catalogue and this one is no exception. I stopped myself buying this set last year because I'm not getting enough time to play with the stamps I already have but I have to say it's really calling to me, lol!

Der Schmetterling wurde so wunderschön in der purpurnen Farbenpracht gestaltet, er ist perfekt und harmoniert fantastisch mit dem Kartenuntergrund.
