The Miracle of Spring Flowers

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well !

I have a couple of cards today featuring stamp designs by Chocolate Baroque.   The pretty flower, Winter Aconite (normally yellow), is another stamp from the new Spring is in the Air set.

I've used a quote from the Loving Sentiments set -  it is a miracle to see flowers & plants come back to life each Spring.

I started with water colour paper and Dylusions Inks (blue, turquoise, green & purple), sprayed with water, blotted with a paper towel roll and dried with my heat gun.  I blotted the ink away using water on the flowers & ground then coloured using Dylusions Inks with a small water barrel brush.

I stamped the delicate Flourish Tree from the new Fantasy Woodland Set to add the flourish design around the border with Peacock Feathers DI.   Designs by my talented team mates at the Chocolate Baroque DT inspired me to use the tree as a Flourish.

I used Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean Distress Inks around the sentiment.  The die is Spellbinder S4-143.

I used the pretty Tulip from the Spring is in the Air set to create these simple note cards below:

I coloured the Tulips with my Tombows and the lacy frame is from Spellbinder S5-090

I'm looking forward to Spring and flowers coming up, but we still have a lot of snow and freezing temperatures here.

Thanks for your visit & have a great day!
Shirley

These are gorgeous Shirley, I love the colours you've used in the top one, and the touch of stickles. The tulip cards are lovely and would make a lovely set in a box, for a gift. I'm glad to say the sun is out here today and giving the feel of spring, it's a shame about the chill in the air that goes with it.

These look absolutely splendid & I love your colouring of the tulips with the sponging to surround it. The little aconites look superb - I was just thinking about colouring yesterday & it dawned on me that we don't have to paint them in exactly the real colours; it was such a freeing thought which you've really helped to consolidate in my head. I love the way you created the ground for the aconites & your little metal embellishments are so pretty with the sentiment. I'm getting a real desire to stamp some crocus images - it's starting to feel like spring here in the Beacons.

You are a Master with these Dylusions inks. Such a beautiful card, and I loved your tulip notecards. That S/Binder rectangle was the perfect accent & color ot compliment your cheery tulips. TFS

Shirley, that is one of my favorite sentiments! And your flowers make me happy - you know how I mentioned that our winter weather has been like our Spring weather? Everything is blooming months ahead of time? Tonight we are already below freezing and it is not even 11PM yet. A hard freeze. Our yard and all the pots are covered with quilts and blankets. The plants need to be protected, like your pretty cards! I especially LOVE the single tulip - it is a GORGEOUS card!

Mmmm, yeah, no, not "simple" note cards, Shirley. Simple note cards would be the ones I make with a stamped "D" (not even embossed) on the front. Your's are more like what you would see in a museum gift shop. I'm just sayin'.

Same with your spring flowers card! And that sentiment? How wonderful is that?!
