Fiesta Flower

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week.

The current challenge theme over at Impression Obsession is "What's Your Hobby".     One of my hobbies is flower gardening which I chose for this card.    Of course stamping, painting & cutting were required and they are another hobby as well.

Impression Obsession stamps:   CC014 CAC Fluff, H2330 Fiesta Flower & C3671 Earth Laughs
Die:  CL CS 02 Crealies (flourishes)

The blue background is a piece of 6x6 Basic Grey paper (blue) that had a bit of colour.   I stamped CAC Fluff with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and also blended a little around the edges along with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink.

I embossed the Fiesta Flower 2x on green paper and 2x on orange paper with brown powder.    I added colour & shine with my Micacolor paints.  I layered as shown, highlighted the doodles and dots with a white Gelly Roll pen and added accent to the leaves with a Distress Marker.

You can see the layers in the photo below:

Thanks for your visit and have a great day!
Shirley

I absolutely love images like this & your colours are just vibrant & softly muted all at the same time - not quite sure how that's possilbe but it's the impression I have. I particularly like the way your die-cut swirls echo the stamped background swirls & how the "Fluff" pattern is picked up in the spots of the orange paper. Your white accenting also echoes the swirls & dots so this is a real feast for my eyes. Isn't that sentiment just wonderful?

PS - have a super weekend. It's very very cold here but the daffodils are bravely poking their leaves out & the odd snowdrop is lifting her head through the soil.

OMG, Shirley! What a magnificent floral piece! LOVE how you have an array of leaves with similar colors, but each unique - and the swirls coming off of them. The medallion flower is beautifully layered - lots of fussy cutting there - and lovely rich colors. That background image is perfect for the sentiment - like the swirling is the laughter, and the flower is in the middle of it all - so gorgeous, Shirley. hugs, de
