Hello Everyone, I hope you are enjoying the festive season, it's such a busy time of year !
I have another card using the beautiful new Steampunk Butterfly
set from Chocolate Baroque that could be used for Valentines day. I love these metal roses and
my husband thinks that the Steampunk designs work well for 'manly' cards.
I
started with a piece of designer paper from my stash (Basic Grey- Capella) that has a faint vintage style pattern.
I stamped the wheel/window fragment with Wheat Chalk and then Vintage Photo Distress Inks. Love is from Chocolate Baroque's Artistic Expression set which I stamped with Fired Brick Distress In.
I embossed the window fragment along with the metal roses with
a metallic embossing powder (combo of silver, gold & bronze). I
painted the roses & fragment with Vintage Micacolor paints, cut them
out and arranged as shown. I decoupaged the large rose to add
dimension. (I stamped it several times) Gold keys from my stash were
added for a finishing touch.
And here is a closer look:
Thanks for your visit and enjoy the season !

Oh Shirley this is absolutely gorgeous hun!!! I love it, may you and your family have a great christmas and all the best for 2012 huggles hun xxx
This wouldn't look amiss as a Christmas card - just showing how versatile CB images are. The gold is exquisite especially with those charms. I'm starting to use overstamping much more so this was a very timely example for me. I've just ordered my set of stamps so will have that as a Christmas present.

Very pretty and elegant Shirley... Love the touches of those golds and pretty charm. Couple of blinks and it soon will be V-day too!
Hope the holidays are being cheery and bright for you and the family...
Sweet hugs and keep safe through out this holiday season.
This is stunning Shirley, I love these rose's from this set, and hubby is right they are quite manly as well. The fragment from this set makes a gorgeous background and would go with lots of other stamps as well, not just the steampunk set.
Hope you're not too rushed off your feet getting ready for Christmas. Have fun.

What a fabulous card Shirley - you are definitely the Queen of Inking! Absolutely LOVE the Roses and the colour palette. This is a work of art, and should be framed, and displayed with pride.

SO SO GORGEOUS. Love everything you have done here - amazing beauty. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Thanks for always commenting on my blog leaving such encouragement.
Gasp! This is jaw-dropping, Shirley. Seriously. Okay. I've got the perfect idea. You know all those acres of land, right? Well, when you build your Playhouse, you need to have an extra, I don't know, million feet spare room to hang your framed cards. Like a museum. I'm a genius. Please call if you need any specific design plans. Ohhahahahaha (louder than LOL!), like you would need any design help! That was a little joke. But I'm serious about the museum.
Happy Christmas and Merry New Year! Hugs, Darnell
Hi Shirley! Beautiful card again! So stunning, and great idea for a valentine card, very classy and love how that nice shade of red pops out so nicely, really well done!
Warm regards, Marlene :)
